I've stayed out of this until I've calmed down but that's just not happening. I've never believed the bullshit line that we don't have the players. That's simply not true, what we do have is a skilled coaching shortage.
I'm angry at the ARU for rolling over but I'm angrier with SANZAAR for going into a second year with a format that was obviously not working. It would have been a couple of hours work to re-gig 2017 into a three conference system but like a bunch of ego-maniacal fucktards they stayed on course towards the predictable result.

But I'm angriest at the SARU because this was their idea! They were the ones who threatened to walk if they didn't get their sixth team. Then threatened again until they got two conferences.

So while I feel for the fans of the teams they cut I have no sympathy for the body who I believe fucked Super Rugby.

Have you seen how popular the swans are? Easily eclipse the Swans and most Sydney NRL teams

The Southern Hemisphere must be the only place where rugby is contracting - Tew must think NZ can go it alone if we deteriorate further: but there is long history of them bailing us out so I wonder what their end game is.

The reasons it is inevitable have nothing to do with the press conference - it just confirmed they were aware further reductions in the competition were inevitable. Being the ARU of course it was prudent for them to focus on Japan and Argentina in that regard rather than the 4th Aussie team, where they have to maintain the same false confidence they did regarding the 5th side despite knowing for years they had to go, because that's the nature of their role. But every man and his dog can see the writing on the wall.

Jesus we need to figure this out quickly and without lawyers - the ARU can't afford a huge legal fee and they can't afford to bail out any franchises who have just paid one either.

Or alternatively, if the ARU want to cut us, we will burn the place to the ground before leaving.

People and organisations are allowed to pursue their legal rights.

The ARU may or may not have entered into prior agreements with people or groups and if it takes lawyers, it takes lawyers.

Interestingly, everyone wants to keep lawyers out of things until it's their rights being affected.

The force have told the ARU where to shove it and have started legal proceedings as they feel that this is all a farce and no matter what the ARU were always going to cut the force. I get the feeling that if the ARU want to tare down the force then the force want to take the ARU with them.

This all fits with Geoff stokes comments about being "uncomfortable" with how this has come about.

The force believe that when they entered into the alliance agreementast last year with the ARU that it was writen in the terms that they were guarantee until the end of the broadcast rights in 2020.

So it's not good enough to fuck up Australian rugby, the ARU needed to watch both the Rebels and Force fans and media fight it out first.

Instead of presenting a united front and advocating for the interests of the entire rugby community the ARU has let ourselves openly fracture and pitted sections of ourselves against each other, fighting about who should be executed and then happy for the rest to pick over the corpse. Results are on these pages for all to see. Undignified and pathetic.

Disagree... most on these pages are united in thinking the ARU are a bunch of morons

This is going to get ugly

The ARU make mistakes. Arguably a lot of them. But, plenty of sporting codes have governing bodies with serious corruption issues.
Perspective is a good thing.

This whole "transparent" process is bordering on corruption when a board member breaks ranks and states he is uncomfortable with how this process come come about you have to start asking questions

Who did this?

Geoff Stooke former RugbyWA boss who apparently was the only one who voted against the cut. He said "I'm not suggesting a lack of integrity in it but I'm not comfortable. Still, there's no final decision at this point of time so we'll see what comes out of it." Veeeery iffy.

Possibly a dumb question, but are we rebuilding relevance within the market in the ugliest way possible? I have never seen so much media coverage of the game, despite how shit the content being covered is.
