In their first three matches this season the Brumbies were averaging 9 offloads per match. Then in their match against the Sharks they offloaded 22 times, although 18 of those were in the first half when they played some of the best attacking rugby we've seen for a while.
Since then the offloads haven't been occurring as frequently. Against the Stormers - 6, Bulls - 2 and now the Kings - 3.
Is the lack of offloading since that first half against the Sharks a cause of the Brumbies attack not being as effective as it was earlier in the season or is it a symptom? Or have opposition teams started to focus on shutting the Brumbies offloads down?
I think it's a symptom due to the three South African teams in their last three matches really aiming up in defence and making more dominant tackles on the Brumbies ball carriers. This provides a blueprint for all teams showing how to limit the Brumbies attack.
