Whatever happened to Van Humphries?

Just a side note, but seeing Van Humphries come onto the field after the win last night made me sit up for a second. I realised I never really noticed him disappear from the Reds 22. Was he forced out by the return of Horwill from his long injury cloud? Or did he get injured which allowed Simmons through? Have to say I didn't really notice.

His passion for the red jumper was clearly a factor in the reds turn around - as demonstrated by his stirring 'speech' last season. He should be knighted.

I read in the Courier Mail a while back that it was a neck injury.

He was injured after Round 3 and then simply couldn't get back in with Samo, AWH, Horwill and Simmons playing the house down - other than for the Hurricanes match when Link rested a few players.

He has signed for next year. I did hear that it was always a plan to play him less this year and use him as the back up. I don't know if it was true or not.

Struggle at club foot in 09 and the reds stuck with him. Finally had enough players he wasn't required. Much like Chambers this year.
