Might also be worth bringing sides to Perth for trials. May be expensive but a pre season trip to SA was in there as well as trials in Canberra. It all adds up and the Force then complaining about travel. Don't add to it.

Email came out from Cron today not really excuses but highlighted the travel factor, not so much the travel itself but the fact that it only really allows 1 proper training session per week in between games which limits opportunity to fix things. I think if they can get their wish for home games and away games to be put into blocks next year that could really help.

Yeah I did think about that bit and found it a bit contradictory; I am sure we had a say in whether we went to Canberra for a pre-season game but probably no one wanted to come here

Of course you’re right however the point I was making is that they had a much stronger depth so obviously they should. They didn’t finish much higher though. The Force played some great rugby early in the season but depth strength hinders them. The Tahs and Reds pretty much got all available Rebels players . Does help!

Spin it a million different ways though. Force didn’t have to deal with a mass change in personnel either. Same coaching set up, 9-10 combo.

Might need to understand why free agents see the Force as a last option. Where is the depth improvement for next year? HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) will help but we know what he is and it’s a serviceable at best Prop and Hoopert has started less than 20 games in 7 seasons. You need these guys sure, but it’s not going to result in 4 more wins.

I’d personally say that the Tahs is your last option. Seems to be where good players get worse. Look out young Joseph!

I don't think Tupou would cut it in France the way he is currently. They called Siya Kolisi fat so not sure how patient or realistic they are with overseas signings

I just think the drive isn't there with him now.

Motivation is fleeting and can spur you on for short bursts but I think he's content and the genuine hunger is gone that use to keep him as a top player. The ability is there but the effort has lost it's edge.

Bridge hasn’t been quite carving it up in France. Tupou is a better get. But both would improve the Force. Hopefully Proctor can actually get on the field.

A good fullback and another prop and I think the Force would be really decent.

We can't really afford to lose Potter - we've only got 3 quality back 3 players in Grealy, Pietsch and Potter. Plus Beale I guess when he's fit, but not a long term option.

Potter for Bridge would be a real downgrade and probably worse for our salary cap since Potter's next contract should have a wallaby top up. Also losing a potential long term player for a short term overseas player.

If we do lose him to the east, it further highlights why we should be given an increased salary cap due to the higher costs required to attract and retain players in the west, generally away from their homes on the east
