Why isn't the game against the boks being played at the NIB rather than the Subiaco Oval? Would be a better venue, especially as it is a specialist rugby stadium

43,500 versus 20,500. More potential tickets and $$$.

It is amazing that in this story from the FoxSports website about how the Reds need a hard back rower and Cotrall fits the mould it is written as if all the Reds need to do to get him is come calling. Yes his is from Brisie but why would you move on from a starting position in a team pushing for finals for one that potentially will finish close to the bottom of the ladder?

For money and to be closer to his family. Just look at Higgers: took the bigger money on offer at the Rebels, not exactly Super Rugby powerhouses (as yet Rebels fans). Not saying Cottrell would or would not go to the Reds because I'm not privy to his thought process.

Further, not sure whether it was an article or observation, but I seem to recall Link in like 2012 or 2013 was determined to sign both Higgers and Cottrell to combine with Gill for the Reds backrow, but of course talks fell through.

What the Reds, or any Oz team, would do to have a backrow of Cottrell, Gill, and Higgers, though. Hopefully Cottrell stays put in the West.

I dunno? Family, friends, the fact that his father and grandfather both played for the Reds. History. His childhood. Probably had his first kiss behind the bleachers at Balleymore like every GPS kid from his age group. The fact that the Reds still have alot of the squad from that the team that won a comp.

I want to support the Force, but geez you blokes have grown pretty confident, pretty quick.

I suppose I am not trying to argue the Force are better than the Reds but it gets frustrating in Perth that just because an Eastern States team makes an offer the Force players will jump. Yes there are Family ties which make it more likely but it's the fait accompli tone of the articles that makes it frustrating.

After 8 years of failure and potentially more next year can't we be cocky for one?

You"re right, I don't want to sound like sour grapes, because I am bloody happy for you. In honesty you really need the success out there, and I didn't know when it was coming.

I very much doubt Angus will leave WA, and why would he?

The Force have built a great culture around the club. You would hope that with the success being enjoyed so far this year that players would buy into this, particularly after all the hard years, stay on and strive for a championship in the next couple of years. Isn't that what team sport is all about.
