Too late he will go now regardless. He can go to the Brumbies and be a player first and foremost not the Captain, Coach, Recruiter, Messiah, then player. Too much responsibility for a kid of 24.

When the signing of Sias Ebersohn was announced it was said he came because of Pocock, Who feels for this poor fellow?

the Truth is we dont know anything that is going on and untill anything is official no one does and everything else is just speculation.
If you look a what has taken place Pocock has been involved the whole way, in helping sign players and so on. He was the driving force behind trying to get genia here. So its not like he diesnt want to be here.

We will have to wait and see the outcome in the next few days/weeks(i hope not that long) untill then everyonje needs to take a chill pill.

Was quite surprise to see Ruaan Smith playing for the Force now. Is he permanently contracted?
No he was injury cover with Mafu and Longbottom both going down. I think he only got on twice so i doubt he will be around next year. Unless one fo the young boys Manu or Fulkner head off to another club which i hope they dont.

His brother JP played in the city v country representative game on the weekend. He may well make the extended reds squad next year as we are looking to sign some new props.

The ongoing saga.......

Michael Cheika and Western Force may still get together in Super Rugby union
MICHAEL Cheika is still regarded as a chance to coach the Western Force in next year's Super Rugby competition, despite rejecting an offer from the franchise.

It is understood Cheika was dissatisfied with the Force's offer, but the two parties are still negotiating.

If they can come to a satisfactory arrangement, Cheika could still end up in Perth.

Former Force assistant coach John Mulvihill is believed to be out of the running, although NSW Waratahs coach Michael Foley has been linked to the job.

Meanwhile, Force captain and openside flanker David Pocock is believed to be leaning towards leaving Perth to join the Brumbies.

It is understood Pocock would be happy to play under Cheika, but indications are he is close to making a decision to head to Canberra.

And then.......

My confidence in WARU's ability to organise anything is at an all time low. The fact that it took an open letter from our blind side flanker for the ARU to allow us another import is telling as to how incompetent the organisation is. The ARU stated they had never considered it before because no one had asked for it. Maybe Matt Hodgson needs to take Vern Reid's job too, he appears to be capable of achieving more.

Fading Force: Cheika snub hits hard in Perth
GREG GROWDEN July 20, 2012

Morale at the Western Force has slumped after Michael Cheika knocked back their offer to take over as head coach. On top of that is uncertainty over whether their captain David Pocock will remain, or head east, most probably to the Brumbies. Perth sources have told Ruck & Maul some players have lost faith in the Force's chief executive Vern Reid following assurances that haven't come to fruition. Cheika recently visited Perth and notified the Force he had been approached by the Waratahs, but he preferred to give the Force the right of first option as NSW ''talked, but promised nothing''. It is understood Cheika left the Force meetings impressed, with ''the only thing to be done being the paperwork''. So some players are privately blaming officials for missing out on him. Cheika is now being pursued by Ireland team officials. But there are still powerful NSW identities eager to lure Cheika to Sydney and the Waratahs, especially after Michael Foley was linked with the Force. It is known at least one Waratahs director is interested in pursuing Cheika. He continues to refuse to comment on the coaching issue and is understood to be back in Paris, where he was recently coaching Stade Francais.

god what is going wrong out west?
Don't know but let's look at their history:
- Firepower
- hiring a coach who was disciplined
- lost their superstar (Giteau)
- aging Marquee signing never got on the field
- lost their next superstar (JOC (James O'Connor))
- Marquee signing sacked for stealing
- coach leaves mid season after signing with a rival
- loss key signing (Genia) for 2013 after senior officials can't keep quiet
- preferred candidate (Cheika) for 2013 coach turns down offer
- Pocock ... TBC

There are probably more I have missed but if you look at the heart of this, this is a seriously mismanaged franchise.
