Agree. Poey was involved in the coaching process so he would have known who was being lined up.
Poey has chosen his path and there is no guarantee he will pick up a Super 15 title with the Brumbies. I look forward to the Force stomping on the pony's next year.....give or take a few years

Yes we are not privey to the deliberations behind closed doors. But if the coaching appointments were only thrown together at the last moment due to the growing discontent being voiced by the Force supporters on various websites, then the deals must have been for a bucket load of cash so Foley and Mulvihill were in no position to say no. In the end we now have a Director of Coaching and a Senior Coach so at least we are moving in the right direction. The Tahs at this point seem to be in more turbulence.

It wouldn't purely be for the fans.... Players and sponsors would have been growing increasingly frustrated as well, especially after discovering the captain best player signed for the opposition..
But yes, moving in the right direction..

I think the whole rugby world was getting pissed off with the situation.....it just dragged on and on and on. Whilst Poey is a blow it gives guys like Gus Cotterell more playing time and I think he's going to be good for the Force.

Looking at some positives... For once out budget isn't entirely tied up in the backrow. We still have 3 established backrowers, and 2 very promising guys coming through. This puts us in a situation (just about) on par with last season but at a much lower cost. We don't really need a superstar in the backrow anymore, we need world class backs right now. So this could turn out ok.

By appointing Foley and Mulvihill I think the force have missed an opportunity to unearth some of the great coaching talent in Australia's premier club comps. Meehan must have turned them down because I feel he probably would have got the gig if he wanted it.
How many squad spots are left? It is going to take some inspired recruiting to build a competent squad for next year. Not impossible but no mean feat.

I wouldn't be expecting many young guns being recruited for next year. I'm picking they will only be signing guys who have previous super 15 experience. Add in a couple of old guys from Europe to fill out the squad.

there are 4 spots left on the main list plus the EPS. One if those spots would have to go to Godwin after his showing at the end of the year. we need a Lock as real 12 and maybe a winger/fullback.
