dobduff11 You have an mission. The Wallabies play Leicester and Munster in mid-week games and in this 3rd World rugby country the games are not on TV. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find out how these games can be accessed via the wonders of the internet. As always, should any member of your team be caught or killed, Green and Gold Rugby will disavow all knowledge of your actions.

If these games are on some form of accessible UK or EU TV or cable, there's a super piece of technology called Slingbox (see below, UK site version, it's a US sourced product) that permits you to simply connect it to that home TV source, and then any internet user anywhere in the world can easily connect to it live over the internet and watch whatever local TV or cable program is selected for it...and it can controlled remotely too. Could be a good GAGR investment! And of course it could be deployed in Australia for rugby not broadcast outside this wonderful land.

Th at is my next investment for when I go home next year for Chrissy. I'm pretty sure that you can only have one user on at a time though.

Lee: "find out how these games can be accessed via the wonders of the internet."- I think there are several ways to do it as i do it quite often for the Super 14,
Go on free broadcasting websites which is just some guy linking his TV to the internet and you can watch it,

the second is to use that slingbox thing that RedsHappy suggested or something similar however I would have to attach it to my TV and send you the other bit of the box and you could broadcast it on the site.

However both of these rely on the fact that the matches are shown on TV. If not the only remaining option is for me and nathan to travel to the match and video it and then transmit on the web.

I guess if Nathan wants to do it ill be happy to do the leicester game although we would probably have to set up are own channel on JTV. Would feel so professional with a press pass haha. If your up for it I might email Leicester Rugby club and ask them about it

I was more just talking about covering it on the website using the live update system, no way recording it. Thus the whole macbook and 3G dongle deal.

I haven't seen either of the mid-week games posted on sky or getting any other airtime, so I'm assuming this would be the sites best alternative for getting some kind of coverage for the game? I guess depending on how boozed we are, we could also set up some kind on voice commentary...?? haha.

Haha I would love to record it but i don't think we are experienced enough to do that, the leicester game might be covered by sky because it was last year (LR v RSA) but that was on a Friday.

Most of the games have an online commentary anyway by the BBC so I could set you guys on here a link for that. Thats if you guys want an audio link.
Leicester fans not going to the game will probably have online feedback from WElford Road on here,http://www.rugbynetwork.net/boards/list/s103.htm

The munster game may be shown on Setanta in Ireland. So check the well known websites for streaming thats what i will be doing. I will follow this up closer to the time when the listings are available on sky

Yeah, I was just thinking about the Cover it Live text system, which you could do on MacBook and dongle easy. Ground probably won't let you broadcast otherwise

Gagger do you reckon they will let us have a press pass if we let them know in advance what we're doing. Ill take a camera with me anyway for videoing purposes if its not shown on the TV.

Yeah Gaggs if you could help us out with getting some passes or something of the like it'd be a huge help. Should be good fun covering it live, whether it be via the website text system or voice commentary...

I'm taking that as you're in Dobd's? What about the Munster game?

Trevor Allan (34)
Yeah im up for it if we can get it sorted,

and Nath its in Limerick thats a bit far away for me, also I have a feeling that the Munster game will be televised

Where to watch in Hong Kong

Sorry guys, don't mean to change the topic but just quickly- does anybody know where a Wallabies fan living in Hong Kong can watch the Wales v Australia game this weekend?
I have looked everywhere and it appears there is nothing being broadcast here in Asia.

Is there any up to day info on how the 2 midweek games can be watched - for those of us in Oz?

PS have changed the name of the thread and transferred Chauncey's query here.

Try www.iraqgoals.net Whoops iraqgoals.tv Channel 4. Just had a look and that seems to have shifted sites, Google still brings it up. Some of you clever younger types should be able to track it down. Its beyond my 70 year old abilities. I was able to watch live test matches during the winter on my computer. Now when I look it may be that Uncle Rupert has got involved somehow. Good luck

I use www.streampro.tv

It has a pretty low cost - something like $10 / month and for that you get semi-legal streams of UK SkySports 1, 2, 3 plus lots of other channels.

It's a higher quality stream than most robin hood services, but it's still not TV quality.
