Well the only difference between this match, and Suncorp 2010 is that the Reds started a fight after we scored the winning try.

Some food for thought.

and the fight was started by Tom Carter being a complete dick. None of the Reds players ran over to the Tahs players and rubbed there heads and got all up in their faces either.

I've got no problem with a bit of a celebration after a try, as long as it's done for the benefit of your team mates or your fans. Both Ioane's and Carter's try celebrations fall under this category. But it's the moment when someone goes out of their way to make it personal and abuse/back slap/head rub another player, be it post try or, in this case, pre what seemed like a certain win, that I get a bit shitty. The focus is on external factors, not within. For me that's the difference between enthusiasm for your team and plain poor sportsmanship.

It is stupid, and most of my recent comments have been in jest. However, even Bob Dywer is subtlety spraying Tom Carter in his match analysis!

"I’ve been really looking forward to the new Super Rugby season. I’d looked at the Tahs squad and I’d picked my starting line-up and save for a few worries about one centre position, I’d figured that this team will take some beating. High excitement!"

Enter Quade Cooper in the Bledisloe Cup dead rubber of 2010

It was made worse by the fact that it was done in what was effectively a loss (the conclusion of a 3-1 series defeat).

Aside from the fact that Carter will never play for the Wallabies - If Carter does were to do that, he's a dick (possibly a disgrace to Australian rugby) - If (when) Quade Cooper does it, he's just being Quade.

The reds players would have had to run about 50 m back down the field to where the tahs guys were still wondering what bullet just went past them to be able to rub their faces in it.
