I'm away this weekend. We always seem to have a home game at Easter which is highly annoying as I'm always away (with no television and an hour and a half from any pub that would show the game).

Maybe this year, considering the game is on a Sunday afternoon, I might make the 3 hour round trip to watch it live (on TV).

Its funny Braveheart81 the crowd I've been going to the game with are in the same position, none can go this weekend, although I don't think they're as far away from a pub as yourself. I've got a feeling it won't be a great attendance at all on Sunday.

It is literally in the middle of nowhere.

Wait. What?
I'd share the knowledge with you, but then there would be a line, and...you know

actually I will let you all in on the secret, with the caveat that as crowd figures build there will be more pressure on all bars.

If you walk around towards the main scoreboard but head down the stairs to the seats under, at the base of the stairs the can bar has an improved set up, and serves light and full beer, cider and wines, as well as some RTDs. Yes, they still pour into glasses, but there were 3 staff in the small bar, and most of the punters sitting under the scoreboard go to the main bar which is more accessible to them.

lets say that after several years of not even bothering I was pleasantly surprised

So we've got the Force then Canes away and then a bye. We really need to start getting bonus points and this weekend against the Force in the arvo must be nothing less than 5 points and at least 2 points vs Canes.

Has that place got a name? Aussie Town Trivia Thread Entry perchance?

Snowy Plains is the closest area.

It is not a town though. There is no permanent population. The closest actual town is Berridale which is about an 80 minute drive away.

I watched our boys train today, and for the first time since at least last year they seemed to be genuinely enjoying their footy and having fun. There was a lot of chat and a lot of motivation.
TPN, Cliffy and McKibben all trained. TK ran with the 2nds. I think Cheik wants to hammer down consistency in winning and team selections.

Lots of emotion in this one. Hopefully we can show M.Foley what he could have made the team into.

I think 9 points isn't out of the question, 5 v Force and we certainly shoudn't fear going to the Canes. Looking at our fixtures down the line if we can get LBP in Pretoria and Christchurch, and a win against the Kings we could make a late (injury permitting) run for the wildcard playoffs given our only other away games are Force and Rebels. Or maybe I'm still on too much of a high from Sunday and have that long weekend feeling!

When two Australian teams play each other I always support the underdog.

I'm not really sure who that is in this game.

Maybe, but I'm with you.

Tom Waterhouse is giving $4.10 on the Force. I understand from the papers that he's an expert rugby league analyst, dunno what his rugby knowledge is like. ;)

I wonder what odds I could get on Tom Waterhouse either getting banned for life or sent to jail at some point in the future along the same lines as his father?

Looks like Ebersohn is good to go for Sunday and SNK is up for his first run in a Force jersey, possibly at fullback. Force have been dominating large parts of the game but need to find that X-factor to put games away. At some stage we need to get a look at CTM in the centres or even move Tupou from fullback to 13 where he had some time last year. Junior needs to be on the bench and given minutes to continue his development.
