Highlanders forward need to gain some form of parity to give their backline a chance. However, I think the Tahs forwards and home advantage have them as strong favorites for this game.

Let's worry about the Clan first, hmmm?

Whether we win or lose against the Highlanders, the Chapman/Hoiles issue won't go away If we lose this week it makes it even more essential we win the following week as we'll be fighting to keep second place.

That means Chapman has to get some match time this week after such a long layoff.

I would be managing Cliffy Palu's workload a little leading into the finals as well, so may find chapman and Hoiles on at the same time over the next few weeks.

why is everyone disregarding McCutcheon? Assuming Potgeiter, Hoiles and Skelton all stay in the 23 he is better cover for the back row..

I agree, I think Hoiles ran the lineout well last week and also in his other starting match v the reds. Chapman would also just be getting back into the groove of week to week footy after an extended break. was more think that whether Cutch or Chapman on the bench Id be given Palu a spell.

I would be too. Especially after he had to play 80 minutes due to Dennis' injury last weekend.

I wonder how that is best managed now with the current team? I'm assuming we have Chapman on the bench rather than McCutcheon.

Hoiles is not the greatest number 8 but he's the only option in that team.

I wonder how Potgieter goes at number 8? He seems like he'd be alright. You could potentially start Skelton at lock, Palu at 8, Hoiles at 6. Potgieter replaces Palu and Chapman replaces Skelton in the second half. Hoiles plays 6 all game.

Hoiles has played the majority of his senor footy at 8. Id put him to 8 with 20/30 to go and bring eithier Cutch/chapman on at 6. Leave Potgieter and Will to share as they have for the next two weeks.

Because we're looking at a lineout replacement, someone who will call and take the majority of lineouts..

Chapman and Cutch: 197kg/110cm v 187/106. Simple, Mitch is bigger. As well as size Chapman's a very, very good lineout technician. I'd run Chapman and Skelton on at the same time if I was the coach.

Good size for a prop. You'd get under any THP with those stats. Binding could be an issue - for your teammates.

Look I'll pass that along and hopefully we'll get some traction on that ;)

What the Force need is a big win against the Reds and a very close four-try loss at minimum, then hope the Kiwi teams start dismembering each other in the right order so that we can get three Aussie teams into the finals.

It would be better for the Tahs if the Reds have a big win over the Force, so that they are over-confident the weekend after.
