Thought Kepu had a cracking game yesterday, the line break is one for the career highlights reel.

Hooper strong, out-pointed Butler and Pocock when he came on. thought Palu was very strong, as was Skelton.

Beale continues to slide off tackles, but god he looks dangerous on broken play.

Folau outstanding, Foley good, Phipps best game in a while, all scoring the points on their opposites.

Was also impressed with Dennis yesterday, thought he got through a lot of solid work. Tahs are starting to find their place a bit more, in terms of the players knowing their roles and sticking to them. Positive signs.

Does anyone here actually think fardy had a Chance at intercepting that ball? I'm hearing heaps of whinging about the card.

I think the only thing that really made it controversial was the fact that it was originally given as a knock on with a Waratahs scrum feed and then there was a significant break in play due to injury which led to replays being watched and the TMO getting involved.

I think a yellow card was the correct decision but the way it was arrived at was a little dubious.

I guess replays will be shown when there is a break in play and issues will be highlighted if they are there. Once an issue comes to light and play hasn't already moved on, it does seem like addressing it is the correct course of action even if it was initially missed.

Referees should go back on decisions if they are made aware that they got the decision wrong in a reasonable period of time.

Actually I thought To'omua had a better game then Foley. Agree with the rest. Don't think anyone else outplayed their opposite number.

Foley got the points more for his ability to link his backline together, rather than on individual performance. If i was picking the wallabies backline, i would still have To'omua at 12 and Beale on the bench, but think Foleys ability to bring his back line together is better.

Speaking of the break in play,as a grumpy old man it shits me to death.
It seemed to me,from my view on the lounge.
The ref blows play up and calls a scrum,Tahs water boys stroll on & takeover proceedings everyone stops, has a drink at their leisure and listen to instructions from the box.
Meanwhile the ref stands by waiting patiently until the players decide they are happy to resume.

I disagree. I think it was Beale who was bringing the back-line together more-so then Foley.

It's a difficult one because you're trying to walk a tightrope between taking injuries seriously and making sure players are properly checked out before being allowed to continue and keeping the game moving.

Pretty much impossible for a referee to fairly decide whether a player has gone down for treatment purely to create a longer break in play or they actually have an injury concern.

Re the Fardy decision, the call to go to the TMO was suggested by a touchie, not just Joubert on hearing the crowd.

At times it seems like it is almost compulsory in professional rugby that as soon as Sir has whistled up play for a scrum restart one of the Cauliflower Club will go down with a heartlidge strain or cuticle injury requiring immediate and lifesaving medical intervention. Add this to the fartarsing around with two or three resets and the inevitable penalty lottery and it it little wonder that some folk want to get rid of the scrum.

To'omua, after his great try, had no consistent ball to be better than anyone

That is largely the reason i thought Foley organised his troops better, better front foot ball and control from the forwards. That said, individually, To'omua busted his guts out and never quit, despite some close attention from the Tahs forwards.

I would still be picking To'omua as my starting 12 for the Wallabies.

You know defence is half of the game right? He defended well. Was busy all game. For me, Foley just shuffles the ball along, although his support play is superb. A close call, but I would still give it to To'omua slightly.

I thought Lilo looked good when he got his hands on the ball.....

It was the individual brilliance of some of the Brumbies backs that kept them in the game.... forwards totally out-enthused.

So many dropped balls though. And some uncharacteristic individual brain farts. Would never of expected Carter to give away such a silly penalty, Or Speight to try a chip and chase. Kuridrani was losing the ball in contact. Lots of Brumbies pushing passes. They certainly didn't seem to have the patience that they have usually shown the last 2 years.

Although constant pressure from the Tahs forces teams to go off their game.
