Close, but not quite correct. Fitzy was always a hooker at Joeys except for Yr 11 when Boydy thought he would try him at breakaway. Unfortunately broke his hand in a trial and ended playing 2nds that year with the occasional run off the bench as a backrower.

Yeah I was thinking about Yr 11 when he was in the Twos - I didn't remember him in Yr 10 or earlier - but one of the Joeys tragics from a Joeys team of about 1940 told me when Fitzy was the Ones skipper that he was switched to hooker by Boydie after playing other years in the backrow; so that was obviously bunk info.

Incidentally this bloke was in his 80's at the time and he was subsequently banned from Hunters Hill for making persistent raucous replies about the refereeing when things didn't go well for the home team.

I thought it was a master stroke to switch Fitzy to hooker, and shame on you for ruining a good story.

Nothing wrong with Fitzpatrick's play. Scrum continued to beat the Bulls senseless and the lineout worked well. His efforts to live up to TPN's open play is also a sight to behold. Aussie hooking stocks are in good order.
