Waratahs 2026

Pass it to Dunning!

I wonder if any of the players leaving the Reds will be picked up by the Tahs. Sef Fa'agase is a decent prop and Liam Wright is solid when he isn't injured.

I don’t think Wright would come to the Tahs with how it sounds he’s leaving the Reds with their blessing (agreement on contract release)

I’d say test waters in Japan or something lower. If he killed it I’m sure they’d welcome him back.

Tahs should invest in Doyle and Hooper splitting some time in developing into the future backrow mainstays.

He was only on a one year 2025 contract wasn't he? There's no release, he just doesn't have a contract for next year
Yeah, just off contract and couldn't come to terms on a new one.

I'd be surprised if he ended up elsewhere in Australia though, I can't really see another Australian side willing to offer him more than the Reds at this point, and if that was already the case it probably would've been announced with his departure.

Jaques started as named in the 19s squad and went up to the Super Rugby Aus squad and now the main squad.

He's a genuinely big human for his age who can really move. He'll quite easily carry 102-105kg. Guys like he and Watters are really exciting backs and make sense why you don't go spending a lot on a guy like Lancaster especially when the Force kept him in Aus (I know the Tahs aren't out to help the Force)

These are signings that will bear fruit come 26-27 in reality but great to have them locked up and learning.

With Hendren on the books, lets give Harvey some time learning Flyhalf hey?

Looks an awful lot like they've either past on Ropata or just lost him to the Force, where he was sighted at training this week. Means Poolman is rocketing up the depth chart, but I wonder if they might also look at one of Jacques, Harvey or Hendren in the centres.

I'd say the Force have just picked him up. Jacques has played plenty of Centre coming through.

With these signings I tend to think JAS will be used in the Centres by DM this year. Group of JAS, O'Donnell, Walton, Poolman

Jacques is in good spot. He'll be able to play a bit of everything (Tahs, SS and U20's). Bit like Pakeho. Should be great for his confidence and learning.

I'd have Harvey on the bench in a fair few games to come on as that DMac style player.
I tend to think his best position is fullback but he'll be a very handy against a tiring attack. Popping up in first receiver will undoubtedly help Bowan, Creighton and Fowler do their job.
