Waratahs 2026

Dave Porecki has retired from professional rugby:

What a shame. When he was on the field I always thought he was pretty good in most games contrary to some of the criticism he received at times, but his run of injuries has been a shocker and unless he's keen to take a run at another World Cup he ticked a lot of boxes so I get it. Timing for Tah's sucks if they didn't see/know this was coming. Might have fought a little harder to keep a few people around. Without a sound front frow, next year isn't going to be pretty.

Wasn’t JAS rumoured to be looking at another Super Rugby club, maybe we can trade Nasser for JAS
Think he is entitled to as the next 2 years are an option in his favour with a pay bump. So I imagine a) he would want to move teams and b) a another team is able/willing to swallow their component of his salary.

I know they're winding up Tahs fans but didn't Joe sign a three year deal with Tahs and RA with an option to extend by two more? He's done one year only so far.

Folau Fainga'a is on contract with Clermont through to 2027, so he is a no go. Uelese contracted through to 2028 with Montpellier. Kaitu'u contracted with Racing 92 through to 2026. Efi Ma'afu is at Nevers in Pro D2, has 1 more year on his contract in France too but more chance getting out of that deal to go to the tahs than the Top 14 clubs. Waratahs need to sign a tighthead as well, cant go into a season with just Amone and Botha. Malachi Hawkes? Izi Sword? Tom Ross comeback?

really, or you taking the piss?
Can’t see it happening in a million years
Can't see it happening either.

Just saying that when his 2 year option kicks in after his initial 3 year (not 2 sorry), he does not HAVE to stay with the Tahs for those 4th and 5th years. If he wanted to go to another team then, AND another team were happy to take him, then he could.
