Anyone got mail on why Macca hates Tane?
I just don't think Edmed is ready yet. It'd be different if it was a settled side a year or two into their systems and structures, but he's much too flighty to build around. Shorter stints off the bench are probably better for him right now too.

Matt Philip signing with Rugby Australia and the Tahs until 27. Will be interesting too see if he will be able to slot right into the current Tahs makeup, we are lacking quality 2 rowers.
He's signed on from July (more or less the same deal as Aidan Ross did for the Reds), so he probably comes straight in for the Lions game and gets a chance to build into the team over the off season (assuming the tahs have booked much in for it). He could also end up with the Wallabies, but I think that won't happen until after the Lions series given the form of the local locks.

Any chance Yokohama give him an early release of they bomb out before finals? (Currently coming 7th, top 6 go through).

He could fit in the last 2 or 3 games which he'd probably be pretty keen for if he wants to press for the Lions

Probably pretty good to be honest, there doesn't seem to be any pettiness in Japan about that. He might have to forgo the final month of his contract (or something like that) but the tahs/RA would make up some of the difference and he'd probably be up for it given he's coming home.

Super Rugby rules may not allow him to come in though - there was a bit of drama with the Blues trying to get Beauden Barrett eligible at the tail end of last season, but I think it was NZRU rules that were the issue so it would depend on what RA's rules were, or if the new competition commission has defined comp wide rules (it should but probably hasn't). If I had to guess I'd expect RA would let it happen, which is the wrong call for the competition (unless they have multiple injuries in the locks) and why it should be managed at a super rugby level.

There are going to be some epic meltdowns when Schmidt names Lolesio as his starting 10 for the first test
;)
Well he’s last memory of lolesio’s performance was him not being able to kick the ball past the 40m line against Ireland. Meanwhile he’s watching lynagh and Donno belt the leather off it. I literally can’t see how Noah improves the wallabies. I can’t see how Lynagh and Donaldson wouldn’t offer better options.

I don't think that the qualitative differences between Noah, Tom and Ben are anything like what you are implying. Due to physical size I'd possible give Ben the nod but increasingly I think that Tom doesn't require the time I thought he did before hitting the Wallabies.

But I won't be screaming if Noah gets the start either.

I know everyone reckons you get a Wallabies cap when you get a Tahs cap but surely this is the wrong thread? Unless I've missed something

I’ll be screaming if he’s a walk up starter with patchy super rugby form. He’s the incumbent but only by default because he has 23 caps and Carter defected. Rennie wasn’t sold on him, jones wasn’t sold on him. Ultimately, he has never done enough to show he’s a test level flyhalf.
