Only two props on the extended bench is surprising after last year and to see Botha getting the nod must mean he has had a big offseason.
Pretty much the A team though, although the brumbies have left a lot of wallabies in the stands.

Agreed - close to full strength for the Waratahs; should take an easy win.

Interested to see how Reimer goes against Gamble @7 - who looks to have trimmed down in the off season.

Fucking poor effort. More than just being nauseating, this fails even the most basic accessibility test (WCAG) that any socials/graphics person worth their weight should be aware of.

Tbh, it's beyond a joke now and Tahs need to do better.

I though all these websites were under the RA banner. Odd that ECE's get a special one.

Tahs are equal opportunity employers - those with poor spelling, and no sense of design or syntax deserve a chance.
It's that ethos that propelled them to all those titles, pre-season and other.
:p

New year, same old Tahs. 12 Wallabies and still making hard work of it against what is effectively the Brumbies 2nd XV (bar Reimer, Toole and the Lonergans). Given there is still 10 minutes and hopefully I will be eating my own words at Full Time.

Well - yes it was a trial - a draw was fair.

Brumbies 2nd string side very impressive against a very strong Waratahs side - shame we didn't get to see JAS.

Adamson the new #7 looked good when he came on at half-time; very active and mobile. TT caused a lot of trouble in the scrum when he came on as expected.

The old its only a trial excuse.

We saw the Reds go over to Bristol this morning and put an absolute number on their 2nd string side. The Brumbies played 4 blokes who get consistent minutes in Super Rugby, imagine what'll happen during the season.

Yes it was disappointing that we didn't get to see JAS in action at Fullback, however I think that it was for the best. His best position is 13, if Schmidt is going to continue to play him at 13 it just doesn't make sense why McKellar would look to play him anywhere else.

And yes I agree Adamson did show some glimpses of promise. Gamble yet again showed why he should go back and play Shute Shield. If you are going to play Robby Leota at 6 and Langi at 8, you need a 7 who is willing to put his head down in a defensive ruck. Something of which Gamble is just not willing to do, I mean he lost his head when Reimer grabbed him at the ruck before the Brumbies first try.

A lot to takeaway for the Tahs post this trial game. On the back of this, my starting XV:
1. Bell
2. Heaven
3. Kailea/Tupou
4. Sinclair
5. Miles
6. Leota
7. Gamble/Adamson
8. Gleeson
9. Gordon
10. Edmed (wouldn't be surprised come round 2 if Creighton has taken the starting spot)
11. Lancaster
12. Foketi
13. JAS
14. Kellaway/Jorgensen
15. Jorgensen/Kellaway

Good review - interested to read other thoughts. I can't see Gamble starting at #7 for long once Adamson gets used to Super Rugby.

Never seen him play THP. He’s only been playing in the front row for a few years. Not sure what evidence you have that he plays both sides. Tupou will be fine to play 50 mins super rugby each week.
