He's 33.
Your recollection is correct. No idea whether he's improved his scrummaging much in the last four years. The fact that the rest of the Tahs scrum is stronger than it was is certainly a good thing.
Archer has been the only person covering THP I've actually liked. The rest (including Ruan) haven't impressed me much. Curious to see what Paddy's like.
Holz is definitely worth persisting with. Got to see him live I Melbourne and his work rate outside of his core duties was impressive. With the right management he could be pushing HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) (Harry Johnson-Holmes) in a season or two.
That blows my mind. Bell is extraordinary for his age.Holz is 22 and while that is young, he's more than six months older than Angus Bell who is still only 21.

Feels weird that Taniela has been a Wallaby for half a decade already. Guess COVID ate some years up. Feel like he should have more than 38 caps.Unbelievably so.
He's played 14 tests at a younger age than Taniela Tupou was when he debuted.
Incidentally, from looking that up, Happy Birthday Taniela. 26 today!
I would be a little surprised to see either of them straight into the 23. Maybe Hanigan on the bench at a stretch.I'd be surprised if Ryan gets into the matchday 23 ahead of Holz or Smith. He's the cover behind that in my view.
It will be interesting to see how we fit Hanigan back in. Whoever he forces out will be pretty hard done by as all are going well.

Maybe on the bench for CridgeI would be very surprised if Hanigan is in the team this week.
Next week must be a chance but it's tough who you would leave out.
Sinclair is probably the most likely given he's played a lot and Hanigan would be most like for like with him.
I'd definitely be keeping Hooper and Gamble in the starting backrow.
I think he might have to play 3 games to be eligible for finals though.I would be very surprised if Hanigan is in the team this week.

“I put pictures up after each home game of the hill, to show the guys how full it is,” he said. “Each week it’s getting fuller and fuller and our goal is to max it out. We had a great experience there against the Crusaders, with some genuine, passionate support from the crowd."
I'm not heading up this week, planning to go on 28th for the last game with the wife and kids.So is everyone planning on coming this Saturday as well as the 28th to Fill The Hill?
DC's put out the call.
Fill the hill: Soaring Tahs eye home final and Leichhardt fortress
Darren Coleman revealed the unusual tactic he is using to let the Waratahs know their return to form is going down well with supporters.www.smh.com.au
We're getting around 10,000 to matches, but apparently the venue can hold over double that. Dunno where they'd all fit, but the record is 23,000. We have two matches to beat that!
I don't how it works now but there used to be a rule that if you didn't come under contract for a team by a certain date in the comp (around April I think) then you had to play a certain amount of games or apply for an exemption to be selected for finals. It seems a little strange that a player can come in in rd 13 without restriction. Even if they are signed earlier they are technically on another contract until now. The late Dan Vickerman (RIP) was not allowed to play for the Waratahs in the 2011 QF for example.Do you? I think the fact he's had a contract and been part of the named squad for the season gets around that.
Hanigan is a quality unit, with a high workrate and great lineout skills, he will at least be on the benchMaybe on the bench for Cridge
I like this a lot. I went off Jed a few years ago when he dropped off, but the last couple of years back after a stint in the North has really lifted his game.
He is having a very, very good season. Seems fitter than ever.
