Jack Whetton has signed for the Tahs.

Son of Gary but Aussie grandparent so Aussie eligible.

Has been at the Brumbies previously.

One of my favourite annual traditions - the Tahs new mystery lock signing. Surely THIS one is going to be the one who doesn't suck!

At least he's played some Super Rugby.

Sam Caird is probably more in the Dud Roodt/Hendrik Roodt category as more of an unknown. He's instantly better because his surname isn't Roodt though.

Wykes and Whetton are journeymen but should provide a base to work from. Hopefully Caird comes on fast and one of our youngsters improves rapidly.

With any luck things will be more stable in 2022 and we can actually sign a Wallaby lock.

Is Rodda all signed up for next year? He was only on a year contract with whatever French club he had signed, right?

Thanks. Just tossing out names at this point. Was expecting Goddard to be signed but now that ship has sailed and McDonald headed back West we only have Gordon. Not a huge fan of Short (who was picked him over Duffy a couple of seasons ago) but surely he is better than not having a back up.

Whetton is definitely a level above Wykes - he played really well for Highlanders after they lost their starting locks this year (Dickson, Parkinson) and has carried on with a really strong Mitre 10 Cup for Auckland. Good size, busy player, uses his frame well. Good signing.

Jamie Pandaram is suggesting the Tahs are set to announce the signing of "fullback" Jack Grant

There needs to be some serious questions asked of the Tahs admin. All the other Super sides seem to be doing OK financially, but the Waratahs are stripping the copper wiring from the walls to sell it online.

What has gone so wrong in Sydney that doesn't seem to have in the other teams?

Next year's side is going to be the weakest we've ever fielded by a large margin.

His "research" appears to be

https://www.rugby.com.au/players/jack grant

and the next story in the search history ................

Grant has long-appeared on the cusp of a Super Rugby contract but naturally halfback is as competitive a position as you'll find, with the likes of Gordon, Henry Robertson, Michael McDonald and Mitch Short all on the NSW Waratahs' books for 2020

Sorry you've lived here supporting the Tahs for HOW long, and still haven't twigged to their back office shenanigans?

Nathan Cleary at Pumas training, maybe the Cheika connection gets him to the Tahs for 2021 and beyond. Harrison 10. Cleary 12. Tepai 13. please....

The other sides have a ground and the chance of getting some revenue
