I'm curious who the London Irish connection is that seems to have turned us into a feeder club for them? Shame there is no global transfer market.

If this is the best option for Simmons, goodluck to him. I can't say on the face of it that this looks to be a great outcome for the Tahs at this point if it turns out to be true.

Les Kiss and Brad Davis?

I wonder if the London Irish thing was just a timing thing for the Waratahs more than any particular link. We had a lot of older players ready to head overseas after the RWC.

London Irish had just been promoted to the Premiership so had buckets of cash to spend and basically needed to recruit a new squad.

Last year three Tahs went to London Irish (Kepu, Phipps, Rona) but they also signed Coleman and a bunch of other foreign players like Naholo last year. Now Creevy has signed.

They already had quite a few with Saia Faainga, Ben Meehan, Steve Mafi (Australian but played for Tonga) and Dave Porecki

Ok wow he is going - considering the absolute LACK of locks in Australia for 2021 and the fact that Simmons was technically under contract----i can't help but think that SOMEONE must be returning

Les Kiss and Brad Davis?

Been some time since Kiss was involved with the Tahs, but yes I guess there is that historic connection. Davis I'm not so sure about what his connection would be, is he much inovolved/connected to the Australian market?

I don't know who Kepu, Phipps, Rona.. or even Simmons agent is/was. Maybe they were all represented by the same person. Just seems a few local lads being signed.

Rona was the one I was sad to see leave due to timing/age, felt like he was just finding some form. Kepu/Phipps had done their time so you couldn't really blame them wanting to cash in.

Really hope the Tahs have someone lined up for lock

Heres hoping.

London Irish was a great club. Had the honour to play a few games for one of lower amateur teams a long long time ago, a win in the mud over fellow rivals London Scottish on the front field at Richmond being the highlight. I understand since the move from Sunbury it's been a bit rocky. Was great craic at the Avenue I can tell you.

Nonetheless I wish Rob well over there with the "Reading" Irish.

No doubt there are plenty of young NSWelshmen ready to put their hands up for their state next year.

Given Joe Cotton played as recently as last week how can they effectively say he's no longer required for the rest of the season!?!?

Good to see really. Mostly the teenagers/20 year old who would now benefit from regular Shute Shield experiences. I'd expect a couple forwards will be available, perhaps the likes of Douglas, Williams & Tafa.
