Why is the other angle not being made public?

Can only assume it is very bad, and the powers that be don't want it in the public domain. Might upset the little kiddies and the Helicopter Mums.

And if it is that bad, cut him loose.

Tarnishes the image of the game to share the footage further, there’s no gain to be made by releasing the footage.

Latu’s wallaby career is over, enjoy France.

Had the referee actually identified this during the game, Sunwolves would have had a penalty shot 20m out to win the game, instead they had to play with 14 men while quirk was on the ground and subsequently shanked the kick.

Oh man i am so unconvinced by that. The video footage that must exist cant be released because of the detriment it would cause to the game so, despite the only evidence pointing to a perfectly legitimate tackle, we must assume that it was horrendous foul play.

If Latu were unconvinced by that he wouldn’t have plead guilty.

There's a risk component to it as well.

When presented with the offence he's being charged with having an entry point of 10 weeks, pleading not guilty and failing to have it downgraded or thrown out could mean 10 weeks or more.

Sitting out for four or more extra games is a pretty big risk to take.

You don’t get cited for a top end offence for no reason.
History tells us Latu is prone to brain farts and cynical behaviour, benefit of doubt is against him.

I'm not saying he was.

I think the team plays a substantial part in deciding how they will deal with the charge. If they're looking at being without their backup hooker for 6 weeks instead of 10-12 and know that there are very few judiciary hearings where the player gets found not guilty they might decide that the best approach is to plead guilty.

Exactly, just because he was advised to accept the charge doesn't mean shit.

Whole thing stinks until a different angle is released.

Latu gets 10 weeks reduced to 6 weeks for foul play. Quirk gets to have surgery (MCL repair) and minimum 10 weeks -12 weeks rehab. Sunwolves should appeal against the leniency.

We really need to wait until [if] we see the other angle before we start casting these sorts of aspersions. Even then I'm not sure that the length of the injury should have anything to do with the length of punishment.

So you say its filthy play based on the assumption that he plead guilty because of some nebulous 'other angle' that we aren't allowed to see and are not sure even exists. Sounds like a lot of assumption.

Because it sure as shit doesn't look filthy from the only angle we have.

Maybe he was just advised to plead guilty to reduce the severity of his sentence?

Yep Derpus, mate I not saying filthy, I am saying some may (as was said to me on building site today), and and as for why he pleaded guilty, I would suggest that if he was or his counsel did without knowing what is the 'other angle' video, they are extremely stupid!! Who said we are not allowed to see the video? We don't normally see all angles of any offence, even if we think we do, and would not be surprised to see it come out. Are you seriously suggesting there is no other video, but what we have seen on tv?? I would be sure other angles do exist, as the citing commissioner has access to all camera footage.

Im basically just saying its quite unreasonable to make assumptions that Latu is 'filthy' based on something no one has seen.

without genuinely linking the two, I am happy to consider George Pell the scum of the earth despite never actually seeing what he did.

I disagree, if there was a chance they could get him off it they would have fought for it.

I’m suprised by the outrage on this by Tahs fans to be honest, Latu has a history of cynical behaviour, that’s that risk you take when you sign a player like him., Sunwolves fans are the ones who should feel aggrieved, they have lost a key player through injury, and can rightfully feel cheated that this penalty wasn’t identified on the field, which would have given them a penalty kick to win the game rather then fighting with only 14 players during the last phase of the match.
