I watched him play for their reds last 2 games and he was smashing blokes. He monstered a few of the Argies on Sunday morning. Early in the season, but he could be back... or alternatively he was killing it to get a few more $$$$$$ on his French contract.
Is Douglas that guy anymore though? It seems like he is the workrate lock that we have in droves rather than the bruising, ball-running lock.
He mightn't be that player anymore, but he is closer to that role then Staniforth or Simmons. It's a shame Douglas is leaving
He never was, he always has been a work rate lockIs Douglas that guy anymore though? It seems like he is the workrate lock that we have in droves rather than the bruising, ball-running lock.
Is Dempsey really that player though?
I reckon he's the best ball runner in the Tahs pack.
He's not really the guy you want crunching everything a metre from the ruck hoping to make 2m but I think he is the player most likely to bust tackles and make a break. He's the closest in ball running the Tahs have to a Sean McMahon.
A big ball running crash ball lock to provide that other attribute would be great but we simply don't have one and aren't going to have one this season.
So, if/when Dempsey returns (I think he should go straight in at 6) we lose Han igan's skill at the lineout. I wouldn't pick Ned for the second row before any of Simmons, Staniforth or Palmer, which makes him a monte for the bench to cover 4/5/6.
Concerning stats in all honesty, I am very happy that they won over the weekend but they need to tighten things up a bit in defence (And attack). We are going to have to win a couple of games "Ugly" and show some variety when we play NZ teams otherwise we are toast!
