Except those looking for an easy target to mock?
You are right. I am honestly buggered if I can work out how he has survived for as long as he has.

He has taken up a spot that could have been filled better, judged by his lack of performance against Eastwood in the SS over the years.

He definitely makes the top 10 of rugby types who have inexplicably retained their position for a significant stretch. He'll never shade Richard Graham to top the list though. You are right. I am honestly buggered if I can work out how he has survived for as long as he has.
Tilse's absence will not be noticed by anybody.

Yeah- no offense meant to the bloke- I just think his presence has blocked the pathway of players (Scott Sio or Cameron Orr maybe?) who could have developed into more than what he has.
His departure is disappointing tonight considering Orr's decision. Although perhaps Cam always wanted to play for England?
In our next installment of "The 2017 Tahs Squad" we'll take a quick look at this week's movements and the fine act of balancing the roster of 30 full-time contracts.
Perhaps ARU should follow the lead and have more contracts. The English first and second division rugby seem to have around 42 players in their first squads - backed up with an academy. I readily acknowledge that they have a greater TV audience and much larger salary caps (now) - that helps pay for it all.
Personally I think there should be more full contracts made available which would dilute the payments to the so called marquee players. So be it.
The current set up of training requirements is attendance Monday to Friday pretty much limiting alternate work (or study) options (except shovelling horse poo in the wee hours - ask Ned Hanigan as he did it for a while).
That brings me to Tom Robertson - its pretty clear he has worked his butt off to get to where he is in his studies as well as his rugby. He must be facing a very difficult dilemma - Universities see their requirements must be met - end of story - and Waratah training and playing schedule is not a walk in the park. Something will have to give. He is to be congratulated for how far he has got.
Generally I understand most Super Rugby players find it too hard with full time studies and drop out or fall back to part time (even single subjects). Not sure you can do this with Medicine - particularly the practical aspects.
It would be very interesting to see who has deferred their studies in this current squad.
This makes me wonder after attending an ARU function a few years ago that implored aspiring representative players to get an education and not rely on earning money through playing.
