Jerome McKenzie hasn't played all season due to injury would need an exceptional 6 rounds (if he is ready now) to get a look in for a Super contract let alone an NRC side. The Tahs have a history of looking far and wide for options i.e NZ and League as well.

By Georgina Robinson:

Waratahs search for major sponsor

The Waratahs may have secured a bottom line-saving home semi-final next week but they face a fight to lock in a major sponsor with front-of-jersey partner Volvo unlikely to renew their commitment beyond the end of this month.

There were a few relieved souls at Waratahs headquarters after the team's win over the Reds last week - the game at Allianz Stadium next weekend alone will be enough to keep the wolves from the door for the club, which posted a $721,990 net profit for the 2014 financial year.

But there are big challenges ahead, including replacing Volvo, who are understood to be likely to downgrade their deal with the defending champions. Going on local benchmarks - the Brumbies will pocket $1.4 million after signing casino operators Aquis on a historic six-year front-of-jersey deal - the change could leave a $1 million-plus hole in the Waratahs' operating budget over the next 12 months.

Unsurprisingly, the suits at Moore Park have been out courting prospective new partners. A rival automotive brand was an early contender but the parties could not find common ground on the final number. The Breakdown understands there is also interest from the financial sector.

The profit was good news for the titleholders, who also returned $1.5 million to the community game via their licensing fee to the NSW Rugby Union, almost $500,000 more than the fee paid last year.

Tahs shouldn't have trouble getting a major sponsor like Volvo. Twice winner of the Australian conference in the last 2 years with great opportunities to win their second Super Rugby title. If they can't replace Volvo quickly, then the health of Australian rugby is worse than imagined

My understanding is that the Volvo deal was a pretty sweet one for Volvo, as the Tahs were floundering without a major sponsor before last season. I imagine the Tahs are probably aiming up, but I don't know the economics of rugby warrants it. I think you're right that they will get a major sponsor like Volvo, but I'm not sure they will get nearly as much as they're hoping.

So Sunrise reports that QC (Quade Cooper) may join the Waratahs in 2016. I don't think the Internet will be able to cope with the comments on this one..
Noooo
Don't even joke about that JOC (James O'Connor) has been a waste of money for the Reds, he's the last thing the Tahs need. I'm sure they can find 2 young up and coming backs for the same price or just anybody else.

Yeah I'll bet Khoder Nasser was a bit shocked that the QRU didn't hand him another $200K to rub all over himself, so has started planting rumours.

”Quade is a wonderful player, don’t get me wrong I would love for him to be part of NSW Waratahs at some stage. But we are full, we have salary cap issues and also I think he would be struggling to find a spot in our team,” Gibson said.
