Received our family membership pack.
The adults received:
The hat - love it
Car sticker - already on the car
The kids pack has changed from last year. Last year kids got a hat and some quality items. This year it's part of the free junior membership. I haven't seen my kids so excited to receive the pack and then be completely underwhelmed when they opened it. It included:
A sticker
A water bottle that resembles a small goon bag and is basically useless
A paper height chart
The kids pack is a complete piece of crap and a missed opportunity to engaged the kids. My family doesn't need 4 car stickers and 3 height charts. Just give everyone a hat. My kids wore their 2015 Tahs nearly everyday. At sport and at school.
so when their friends are wearing their South Sydney t-shirt or Swans hats our kids can show them their plastic goon bag water bottle. How does the Tahs marketing managed to get it so wrong sometimes?
Its a free membership so filling it with $30 worth of goodies doesn't make a lot of sense.
I got my supporters pack today and I'm pretty impressed (with one notable exception). I got a hat, nice key ring (not sure whether to keep last year's, which was awesome, or go for this one), excellent baggage tag, interesting water bottle (will have to try it out before I pass judgement), two stickers, a window attachment which won't escape the bin, two car stickers and a membership lanyard. Along with the members guide I think its excellent value.
The one exception is the hat! Now my wife loves it, says its much better than last year's light blue one, and I have to admit that the silver Waratah on navy blue looks pretty funky. Some designer probably wet himself with excitement when he presented it. But......
Our colours are sky blue with a red Waratah. The hat is the traditional Victorian navy blue. If I wanted to be a Rebels supporter I would have had the operation and emigrated. Allowing dickhead fashion designers to change the colours just so it looks better to them destroys the tribal nature of the uniform. So, if I get to Sydney this year for a game look out for the old geezer with last year's cap. This year's might look OK, but it just doesn't cut it!
