I wasnt a huge fan of Mumm but in one area he is/was better than most other locks in Australia. Counter maul. Skelton is a menace at maul time but add some technique to it and the maul won't be much of a weapon against the Tahs.

Given the ugly situation that came about, Both Jaques and DP need a big pat on the back at the way they both handled this. Jaques for getting straight down to the convicts and making more then just an apology and DP for being hugely supportive, and turning the ugly incident into a really positive piece of media for rugby and the gay community.

Interesting reading that Ben McCalman has reportedly signed in Japan for 2016. The tahs are allegedly in the chase to sign him on a similar deal to B Foley.

Would he be worth it, or is it more worth developing a Tala Grey/Holloway type?

McCalman is a quality player. But fuck we're going to be short of starting 8s across the nation next year. We need game time for Tala and Jed asap.

You'd have to expect someone else to shell out for at least one of those two if you signed McCalman, if they have another nrc like the last they'd both expect to be starting regularly and with so many players leaving there'll be an opportunity for one of them to somewhere.
