Interesting spin coming out of the Tah's camp. Cheika seems to be working hard on ensuring egos are in check and they appreciate the effort and attitude is there

That is the mantra started by TGC. All the acolytes will preaching the same Word.

I can't recall Tala being in any hit-outs yet but I will have a look this arvo.
.

Both Tala and Pete B were running in the hit-outs yesterday so my call that PB is no chance may be way off. Dennis seems to be as fit as a trout also.

If that is the case all the Tahs may be right for Rd. 1 - though Pat MCutcheon did not train yesterday and was sitting down.

I'm guessing that they won't play Jack Pot in the trial. Geez - watching him yesterday at training you appreciate how he accelerates into tackles as a ball runner.

Not wonder he breaks tackles or half-breaks them so often.

He's pulling an Alofa. Coach takes a punt on them from obscurity. Perform pretty well for barely a year and then piss off and take the higher money elsewhere.

I know it's professionalism and they're doing it for their families but it doesn't sit right with me. They should repay the faith.

Well not that they're short for wingers but he might have his eye on representing Fiji at the world cup. And if he does then he can't stay at the Waratahs under current contracting policy.

Oh fucking whatever. Typical manager-speak. Not like we're paying him a bomb anyway.

Cheika will shrug and say "nature of the fucking beast" then move on.

Wingers are dime a dozen around these parts.

Retaining Horne for the next couple of years was far more important as will be keeping Kellaway who will most likely be a Wallaby before too long.

Hopefully we can keep Naiyaravoro for a year or two more as I think he'll make a big impact this year but as Pfitzy said, it's par for the course. He's unlikely to be in a position to be offered big dollars by the Tahs in 2016 so you can hardly blame him for looking for greener pastures.

Rumors about the Taqele's exodus:

Sources have indicated to Newscorp that a three-year contract is a “done deal” but while confirming discussions with Edinburgh, Naiyaravaro’s manager Tyran Smith said yesterday no agreements had been reached.

Smith said clubs in France and Japan had also expressed interest in signing the 123kg, 195cm Fijian but that remaining in Australia was “definitely” still an option for Naiyaravaro, who is off contract at the end of this season.

“His priorities right now are to get on the field, play some consistent rugby and put all his focus into a good year with the Waratahs,” Smith said.

Edinburgh, who are coached by former Stormers and Kings coach Alan Solomons, are searching for a replacement for Scotland Test winger Tim Visser, who recently turned down a contract extension and is expected to sign with an English or French club.

must be a struggle for his management to put together a highlights package that will attract big $$.
Meow.

wow. Raise the deflector shields.

I think Omar's right. Perhaps he is hopeful of a Fiji RWC spot which, if he gets, he won't be able to play for the Tahs anyway.

Good for him.

I don't think so.
I'm Sure that his manager spoke with the Tahs about extensions, before committing to anything else,if they are not ready or willing to give him an upgrade/extension it's play on.

Sure with a capital S! ;)

You can't keep all your players. Fact.

And quite frankly, positions other than wing are more valuable here. If we gave the same attention to our T5 players that we do to our backline "stars" we'd have a lot better depth up front, where it matters.

You would think his goal would be nailing down a starting spot at the Tahs first.

At the moment that isn't guaranteed at all, Betham and Horne are in his way and Kellaway is there as well

I think his goal is to probably set him and his family up financially...
He isn't a young fella straight out of school, he has been around long enough now and failed to crack it at the Tigers, he probably realises he has to take the contracts when he can...

In any event, isn't the issue of his staying or leaving a 2016 issue? Fact is he is here to add depth a different dimension of play that currently Betham and Horne don't offer at the level he does! The other reality is it would seem he is here for this season no questions asked.

On to far more important issues, does anyone have a team/squad list for Friday night or a gen blue team list?
