Without the EPS how does it all work?
Good signing Kellaway, he's very promising.

Firstly, I'm not saying he is not, what he has achieved clearly say he is.

But how many times have you seen him play in grade against quality opposition? I was keen to see him play on the weekend, but alas he sat on the sideline watching Northam score 4 good tries.
Then there is Harry Jones who has also showed plenty of promise in grade this year.

Reports from Midi Olympic in France are suggesting that Cheika is looking at taking an international job in Europe after the World Cup, Italy are apparently the front runners at this stage.

I'm not sure what you expect otherwise though. They need to sign someone and Kellaway seems the obvious choice.

Who do you think they should have signed instead?

I was chatting to Lindommer about it yesterday but the availability of wingers is one of the reasons why we've lost Crawford and Alofa.

My thoughts are that Crawford, Alofa, Betham (and now Naiyaravaro) etc. would have all been offered fairly low value contracts because there are lots of quality options available within that group and even more in the Shute Shield.

Whilst I certainly agree that players like Alofa and Crawford are worth more in the open market than they were probably offered (and subsequently they have decided to leave) they're not worth more to the Tahs due to the quality of player we can sign instead.

Can't comment to much because I've never seen him play against a quality first grade Shute Shield side, and Soup is a rung above that.

If you're doubting his signing, surely you have thoughts about who should have been signed instead.

BH - I would like to see one of Kellaway / Northham / Jones signed, or maybe 2 of them if Betham, Crawford, and Bread are all moving on. But I'm not going to be drawn on a name because I've only seen Jones play once, and Kellaway in grade I've never seen him play.

I think all 3 have big futures.

I guess the difference is that the Tahs have been watching Kellaway play for a few years now and are excited by what they see.

I agree that Northam and Jones are extremely promising. I expect both will have Super Rugby contracts in the next couple of years.

I think Kellaway training with the Tahs has given Cheika some reasonable insight into his attitude and abilities

But whoever they pick pisses off someone in club world, at least Naiyaravoro highlighted what they saw in him on Sunday

Has anyone come up with anything concrete about how the various super teams are going to manage the withdrawal of the EPS contracts. Does this mean the squads will shrink? Do players like roach now find themselves contractless after this season (assuming TPN and Tolu both play on)??

AND does anyone have a contract list of those contracted through to the end of 2014 and those through to 2015 to get an idea of where some recruitment is required? Have heard people mention locks on here? Are there any around? Who is impressing in club land? Manly appear to be fairly dominant in that department? Have been impressed with the glimpses of Boidin from Uni that i have seen. Who else is knocking the door down for a spot?

You'd like to think that we could contract Northham too, but I can't see any way we could contract all three. Some other franchise is going to pick up Northam and/or Jones you would think - they'll have more moolah to throw around than us.

That would be fantastic, I think the greatest legacy a coach can offer the rugby world is to take a nation and raise them to new heights. Like Henry and Wales.

I mean the ABs, Boks, and to a lesser extend Australia and England, will always be good, but Italy? We'll see.
