Sounds like a small thing but I'm glad they have a sticker. All over town you see on the back of cars, Roosters, Souths, Swans, Tigers etc member stickers, but there are no recent rugby stickers (i.e. Wallaby, Tahs) on cars advertising the game (actually I saw a Brumby one the other day). It's free advertising. I hope it's a decent sticker that can go on a car window.

Like the rabbitohs and their rabbit outline membership sticker would be nice if the Tahs just did a logo sticker and not a rectangular one.

Here's the image from the Tahs website of what the inclusions look like.

Roger Davis appointed Waratahs Rugby Chairman
8/21/2012
By Waratahs Media Unit

The Waratahs Rugby Board today appointed respected banker and former rugby international Roger Davis as its new Chairman.

A former Waratah and Wallaby, Mr Davis is Consulting Director at Rothschild Australia Limited, past Chair of Charterhall Office Management, and currently holds a number of other non-Executive Board positions.

Born in Sydney, the former NSW lock represented the Waratahs on 10 occasions between 1973 and 1978 and earned three Test caps for the Wallabies, all against the All Blacks in 1974. He joined the Waratahs Rugby Board in June this year.

Following his unanimous appointment this morning, Mr Davis said his first priority as Chairman was the successful appointment of a new head coach. “As a Board, we are determined to ensure the HSBC Waratahs and NSW Rugby have a successful culture that is rewarding for fans, players and partners.

“The appointment of a new coach is key to achieving this result. A thorough recruitment process is well underway and we are confident that the knowledge and experience of the sub-committee and the rigour of our process will deliver the best long-term outcome for everyone involved in rugby in NSW.”

Mr Davis’ appointment comes three weeks after Edwin Zemancheff stepped down after over two years at the helm of Waratahs Rugby. “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Edwin for his passion and dedication to chairing Waratahs Rugby in its initial term,” Mr Davis said.

Awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford University in 1974, Mr Davis completed a Post graduate Master of Philosophy degree. A qualified Certified Public Accountant, he also holds a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) degree from the University of Sydney and is an Old Boy of The King's School, Parramatta.

A former Managing Director of ANZ Banking Group Limited and Managing Director of Citigroup, where he spent 20 years in a number of senior executive positions, he currently sits on a number of Boards including Bank of Queensland, Argo Ltd, Trust Company Ltd and Ardent Leisure Ltd and is the Chair of Chartis Australia Ltd.

Waratahs Rugby is also pleased to welcome Paul Timmins to its Board of Directors. Managing Director at Getronics Australia Pty Ltd, Mr Timmins is a member of the NSW Rugby Union Board of Directors, Chairman of NSW Suburban Rugby and a Life Member of the Old Ignatians Rugby Club.

Davis certainly sounds impressive. The proof will be in the pudding, but I'm cautiously optimistic with this first major appointment.

I like that he's only been on the board since June -- brand new might have been better, but at least he's not too institutionalised.

Only problem I can see with the appointment is it seems he is part of the 'old boys' netwrok, schooled at Kings, then to Sydney Uni, worked for a bank and then gets a job on the 'tahs board. That in itself is not a problem but when just about everone on the board has a similar background it doesn't give them a diverse background which could give them an insight into growing the supporter base in Western Sydney and beyond.

I have fairly reliable info that Chieka will be coach, comes from a former Tahs coach himself

I heard it from some randwick boys this week as well. There excited he is coming back.

Is he in the country? Tahs were going to announce today, might have to wait for him to fly back in.

Right then, I'm calling it now - Waratahs to win the super rugby in 2013.

New coach whose proved himself at the pinnacle of European rugby, eager to make his mark in australia. Squad that is brimming with depth. New board members to breath some fresh air into the organisation.

I mean, what could possibly go wrong? :p

Well, its Saturday now and no news. Maybe the announcement is being held over till Monday so as not to distract from the Bledisloe, though given my pessimism some distraction could have been useful.
Maybe he has said yes but will turn them down on monday...he has history doing that

King's is in western Sydney isn't it ? ;)

Geographically it is, but culturally separated. A bit strange, I know, but the King's community certainly don't see themselves as part of western Sydney, even with the increasing numbers of dayboys from the Hills District.

I am a little confused who the Tah'shave on the books for 2013. Do they still have 4 half backs and how many players signed.
