Apparently we should expect the shit to hit the fan this week over salary cap breaches.
Haven't we fans been hit with enough shit this year?

Don't know what other think, but I'm intrigued with everything that's happening at the Tahs but I have an overwhelming feeling of dispair.

I just hope that this tsunami wipes Tahland clear and the new Tahland that is built is the promised land we have been seeking.

IS, I think you should be feeling better by the day.
The Onion is being peeled, layer by layer and the BS and incompetence are being exposed.
It appears amongst the turmoil that there will be some accountability and action.
The salary cap outcomes will be another step in the right direction.

If this thread is any sign, Warratahs fans will be arguing about what wallpaper should be in the club HQ come February.

Back on topic, I am starting to buy into the idea that with current number of super rugby and test matches played, too many test players in a super team kills the team.

I have a lot of man love for Al Baxter but this is a ridiculous appointment.
Firstly the guy has not been long enough out of the game for him to be clear of the wreckage. He will have friends and maybe non-friends in the squad and elsewhere in what might be called the organization.
Secondly, he is really a bit young to be acting chairman of a company of such significance: for gods sake his working life has been as a rugby player he has never had to negotiate or plan a season or a 5 year plan. Has he ever seen a budget, a set of accounts etc? I know he's a uni graduate: but that's in architecture as I understand it.
While I realise it is an interim appointment it sends a disturbing hint that there is just no judgment being exercised in Tahland.
I could see Al as the CEO with a good experienced board helping him learn on the job but this is a different role.

There's a small problem with who is left to be acting chairman. Zemancheff has gone, Petersen is almost certainly conflicted, two of the members are so new they've only been to a couple of meetings and on top of that we are told that several members of the Board are overseas on business or holidays.

My guess is Al Baxter was last man standing. He's probably the only one left with any rugby knowledge.

Maybe Petersen is one of the ones overseas, but if he is not then why isn't he, as deputy to Zemancheff, automatically taking the acting role?

PS. Like PT, my overwhelming feeling is embarrassment and disappointment. I just want the clean-out to happen as quickly as possible and then the whole thing to be over with.

Do you honestly think HSBC has major concerns over the issue of ethics of Kearns opinion? Or do you think they are looking at pie charts of exposure and revenue flow to justify sponsorship against brand perception?

Would Greg Growden think that they are edible?

Unfortunately we're going to find that too many players from a crap team kills the test team.......

Mate, Head is just that , all big Head. Pretty easy job to admin rugby, implement junior programs etc etc when you have a bucketfull of $$$$$ at your disposal
Money isnt any value unless it is directed and utilised in the right areas. cheers

Then we're in trouble considering south Africa and new Zealand's dominance. The brumbies not beating a top 6 team, the Tahs, Rebs and Force not doing well and the reds scraping in. Really we would be lucky to win a game at all.

Further more certain brumbies fans can't understand the difference between a thread about the 2013 Tahs and one about current test selection. Says wonders.

Some Brumbies fans seem to have a big chip on their shoulder regarding the Waratahs. Did one of the Tahs steal their lunch or run over their cat? It's a wonder they can stand up straight and/or walk with the burden. :D

Hey, don't drag the Rebels into this WJ, they are doing just fine at year 2 in their time, thank you. We might let the occasional try in or so, you know one or two, but we're getting there!

So much negativity..

I think there are Wallaby selection threads and relevant provincial threads to be talking about some of these issues...

So it appears noone heard The Ruck Show on TripleM yesterday. It had an interview with Al Baxter and Benn Robinson and the discussion was about - well - you know what. I think it is available as a podcast if you want a listen.

Not according to my sources. for those of us old enough to remember "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea": this is a remake...remember they used to say "steady as she goes"?
Baxter was sent in because it was considered, rightly on the basis of what has happened since his announcement, that no one would ask him any hard questions since he could not possibly know the answers (and by that I do not mean that he is not up to answering hard questions merely that he would not have the data).
The ARU are saying that the Tahs have assured them they have spoken to Wayne Smith - the subtext being that the ARU do not believe the Tahs and, I interpolate, do not believe anything coming out of Tahland.

Is Sally Loane still on the Tahs board? Maybe this needs a strong woman to sort the boys out?

Baxter is also a very bright, calm, media savvy guy.

That puts him well above most of the Sydney journos he has to deal with.

I actually have no issue with a bit of silence over at Moore Park, they should just ban anyone talking to grumbles or do what the Eels just did.

They worked out who was passing on all the negative stuff, fed him a false story. It was passed on and they then sacked the guy
