By the way due to trial HSC exams today the two games have been reversed with the Hills/Knox game being the first game at 1.00 and the Auggies/NBSC game at 3

Looking at the final and I must it wasn't much of a game , this team was not even development material. They can kid themselves by running out the "where giving our younger guys a go" or "we have our trials on" or like last years "it dosen't fit in their program most of their players are now doing other sports" as a total discrace and a sad reflection upon the management of their school program as being disrespectful to the heritage and significance of the warratah shield.

To send out youngsters against one of the best school rugby teams in NSW is crazy stuff. Shame on any school that would do that.

...it was kinda emabarrassing to watch....once a hills player just picked up a knox player, one handed, almost...then put him back down after taking him past 90 degrees...frequent pats on the head/helping hand up for a knox guy from the hills player that had just run over the top of him.....

All said and done. I will expect Augies to take the silverware this time around. Last year they were in it for a solid 25 mins of the first 1/2. Then the sheer size and power (brutality with out malice)put them away. This HSHS team is not a cracker of the side we saw last year. Augies has a fine coach and management team who will pull something out of the bag.

It should be a great final against two schools that have total respect of the traditions of the competition and are determined to win it. It pits Auggies (2008 & 2009 champions) against Hills (2010 champions). Last year Hills beat Auggies in the final 36-18. I remember watching this game and it looked like men playing against boys such was the sheer physical dominance by the brutes from the west. Whether that score is relevant now can only be a consideration of the players from both schools who played last year and are backing up again this season.

I earlier reported that I thought the Hills team was a one hit wonder last year and I didn't expect them to do well this year. But as I wipe the egg off my face for that remark I have to say after recent results that Hills will go into the final as favouites to win.

Their last two games against traditional rugby schools Kings (57-17) and Knox (62-12) have surprised many people. We are told that Kings fielded their best team but Knox didn't. In the process they have accumulated 119 points for and 29 against.

Auggies are also in form. Their last two games have seen them win against Oakhill 36-15 and against NBSC 36-5. Points for 72 against 20.

Last year I thought Auggies were too predictable by running the football from all areas of the field which has proved successful against many teams. However Hills utilised a drift defence and just picked off the Auggies runners easily. Great defence by the Hills backrow punished any attacker that happened to step infield. I think if Auggies are to have a chance in this game they must mix their tactics up a bit.

On the available evidence and form I can't go past a Hills victory by 14.

What are the odds HSHS for both Buchan and Warratah shields. The HSHS will play this comming Monday at 1300hrs. They belted a poor team from up grafton way last week 71 to 8. Now this side does have some interesting youngsters in it. with solid rugby background. However they still play like mungo's. May be the mungo way is a fresh change. I don't know? but it appears to work at this level. Strong forwards not overly skillful but backs you would die for. speed and skills with the ball in hand.

Not sure I can agree with the bracketed words. There should have been red cards.
