Newbie,

IIRC a few too many years back, a team I was associated with won the Northern Zone Under 16 trophy and I am pretty sure when I saw the shield that there was a "Marcellin College" entry on that shield from the dark ages.

I have heard that periodically (not in recent times) Marcellin has entered teams in the Sydney Juniors Competition, although it was mostly parents of rugby centric kids at the school who ran the team moreso than the School.

The CCC Under 16 this year only had one Marcellin College lad, at Fullback.

Stannies 22 bt Westfields 5

Unfortunately I am lead to believe there was another huge fight. My information suggests a Stannies player punched a Westfields player while they were unsighted and the ensuing fracas was ugly.

Yes there was an all in brawl in which saw the game called off 20 minutes early from fulltime.

I have been lead to believe the ref was someone significant in the rugby circle who has actually controlled a couple of international matches.?

I am sure that Pedro (whom I believe is associated with Stannies) will be able to provide a decent eyewitness account, and game review.

Hi Lee, I saw Farrer vs Stannies thought Farrer was good. Did not see Westfields game but I bet they got a shock as Westfkelds dominated CHS 1st team rep side. St Andrews big forwards made same mistake once they realised they would lose the game they started getting physical against Stannies

The ref should have sent the St Andrews players off.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM I beg to differ Pedro !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

You might want to loosen that Stannies school tie of yours so your head can pop out and then give it to Nathan Pearce and tighten it so it can pull his head in. He doesnt need to take it out on the kids at Westfields for not getting picked in the merit panel for Super Rugby 2012 hehehe. (Sorry LG had to say it).

I don't think that Nathan would take exception to that comment. He would take as much notice of it as it deserved.

Pedro left himself open, comments like his start rumours and before you know it everyone is back on the bandwagon in regards to comparing Public School rugby (CHS) and GPS, so I had to give a bit of tongue and cheek.

Auggies 40ish point win over Stannies
Oakhill at half time out by about 20. Impressed by the Marist boys who were playing very well just being out muscled.

Oakhill ran away with their game 41-7. They are a big and well organised team with plenty of options in both the forwards and backs. Marist looked out of sorts and never really seemed to turn on. Oakhills bigger pack and direct running in the backs won out in the end. Marist had a much smaller team and despite this seemed to be dominant at the scrum? They were however left down by a lineout which was virtually non existent, bad hands, some poor defence at times, terrible discipline and a few injuries to key players. If Marist had played smarter and made better decisions this should have been much closer. Oakhill deserved their win and I would say they will probably beat Augustines in the final.

St. Augustines and Oakhill were much too good. Stannies were disappointing and Marist even more so because more was expected of them having beaten Hills in the Q/F in emphatic manner and winning against arch enemies, St. Eddies, twice this season. It did not help that one of their locks got a yellow card in the first half and that they lost their 9 and 10 to injury after oranges, but they appeared to be second best even taking those matters into account.

Oakhill looked the best team of the day but it should be a good Final when the young St.Augustines team (half of them today were not yet in Yr.12 according to one of the masters) get the likes of Natoli and Cochrane back from injury.

Oakhill appeared to be the better team Lee? What more than 43-7 would it take to convince others of the differences?

Good point cutter. I do not think enough in absolutes - in black and white - there is too much grey in me and too much doubt; not enough truth or untruth; too many tints and shades.

I will have to stop reading T.E.Lawrence; it does me no good - or so it appears.

Damn this red wine is good. I think.

Might be getting ahead of myself, but the draw seems to be opening up nicely for Oakhill. A second shield championship (first 1994) seems to be beckoning.

given there is no more to do, send the footy team to brooky so they can measure up for the new furniture and get the space built for it on their saturdays off. Ready for delivery on the 29th

oh and did you see the mens 110 hurdles heats in London last week
