Hold on. An Australian consortium now owns Narbonne. Quick question: Why not invest in Aus Rugby instead?

Much more money in French rugby - I think the lowest budget T14 team this season is around €9 and with Toulouse at €20+
Narbonne is a blinding option if BD and crew can turn it around

A good investor is not moved by emotion, just money.

I am guessing there is more money making potential overseas

That was Dwyer's position :

-Established name/brand
-Catchment area with fierce loyalties
-Already establsihed facilities/Stadium
-On their backsides so takeover expenses low
-Good role models in Stade Francais and Racing Metro
-Flourishing league that exhibits growth
-Increasing rugby popularity v football
-A working administrative environment Union/League Body/Clubss
-A growing 'elite' that will thrive if and when Pro Rugby burgeons and a w/wide timetable can open up the N and S Hempisphere potential

and

if all goes tits up a minimum loss v potential advantage.

Looks good to me ....

What are they going to invest in? Nothing is up for sale and it'll be years before they get another opportunity to bid for a super team.

The next possible opportunity would be 2015 at the next TV negotiations. They could have looked to invest in say a Western Sydney team now by investing money into developing the talent base out west. That way come 2015/16 when said team could take the field they would have an established talent structure and potential squad, identity and presence in the community. Likely would have been less expensive than buying into French Rugby. That's just my thinking.

"
You shouldn't hang on longer than you are supposed to be there"... nice quote, pity he only applies this to himself and not some of the rebels players....
