I'll go with Baxter. How many tight heads have owned Sheridan? He is one of the most maligned players in history.

ive never had issues with Baxter, i think it was the collective pack that has always let him down and not his own personal skill, whilst not a fantastic prop he was made to look a lot worse then what he actually was by a poor scrummaging pack

The voting is close. While I'm a big Baxter fan, Darwin was technically an excellent prop (in fact Alexander's journey is similar to Darwin's) who I felt at the time got through to the top rank because he played with JP and Yowie at the Brumbies.

However, having gone over some of his old work its clear he was gifted and could have been an all-time great. Baxter is a close second as he also took pains to improve his game and as speccy says: proved Andy "Brickfaced Twat: Sheridan to be the myth he is.

Actually, Baxter is probably fourth on that list in terms of TH props, it's just he came between them. Noriega, Darwin and now Alexander (as he can keep his bind up) are all probably ahead of him technically. All three were probably better around the field too. I see no reason to give it to Baxter than caps, which he got as we had nothing.

What I like about Baxter is that he improved. He was perhaps the worst TH prop in 2003 of all the top 10 rugby nations, but improved such that, by 2008, he could hold his own. He still had problems with collapsing on the hit too often, which is one reason, I think, that he got targetted and penalised.

Anyway, nothing against him as he's a great guy off the field, but Baxter being TH prop of the decade would probably be a farce in my opinion.

Darwin for me. He had the potential, and had he not been injured he would have been superb. But there hasnt really been anyone this decade. Baxter was average, Noriega past it, Alexander maybe, but he is only just making the position his.
