I think Smithy said in the Oz today that Higgers was a couple of weeks away. Big ask to play Tri-nations with only a game or so of club rugby since late April as your base.

So all the guys going on about getting Van in the Wallabies was pointless?

Getting Van to play is crazy talk - almost as crazy as bringing back Le Fuse or Capt Blood.

Van would have been up to it. But he is injured and we will never know. It's a real shame because he deserves a Wallabies cap, and he had done enough this year to earn one on merit.

The Australian reporting today that Higges will play for Wests on the weekend.
It will be interesting to see if Deans picks him in his squad. He may not as he will have Mumm and probably Chapman that can cover the second row and 6.
Hope I'm wrong and we get a chance to see what Higges can do this Tri Nations.
