Yeah that 3rd place finish in 2015 was such a bad place to leave them. I'm sure their fall had nothing to do with them hiring a completely out of his depth Daryl Gibson

If we think this is a dire situation and coaching group, I reckon everyone is in for a shock in about 10 years' time when it comes to candidates. At least the guys being put forward have SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) head coaching experience with different levels of success across a number of years.

The Tahs won the comp in 2014 and Cheika only left because he got the Wallaby gig. Things can't have been too bad or he wouldn't have got a look in with the Wallabies.

I don't think Cheika is the right man for the Wallabies right now, but the criticisms of some on here are without foundation. He stands alongside McQueen and Dwyer as one of the most successful international coaches Australia has ever produced. Does he have personal flaws, of course he does. People at this level of ability are often complex personalities, look no further than Wayne Bennett in RL.
To be clear, I don't think he is the right fit for the Wallabies where they are at now and following Schmidt, but he is a way better coach than some on here give him credit for.

last aussie coach to win super. coached multiple teams domestic, foreign, and international. he's credentialled, more so than other candidates. i agree and don't think he is the right candidate for us right now, but he has way more on the resume than kiss, mckellar, bernie and lancaster.

Froggy. A lot of punters on here have little idea. While I agree, due to the Eddie fiasco, Cheika again would be too controversial. Another Randwick coach regurgitated. Heaven forbid. I think though, for a two year stint and a home World Cup, with all his experience, he is the best qualified for the job. Lancaster… no thanks. Who else do they have? Kiss? Cron is getting a team together in the west but he is not in the race. It will be interesting who is announced. I’m guessing it won’t be someone from left field.

Given RA bankrolled the Tahs and Brumbies overspending to the tune of $3.6million each, I think it’s only fair QRU seek a 7 figure release fee as compensation for taking their coach mid- contract

why let NSW, Vic and ACT have all the fun

Which led to NSW and ACT being taken over by RA, you OK with that for QLD too then?

ABC coverage has been pretty good across the board lately, they've got plenty of journalists putting the effort in and even had Phil Waugh on offsiders recently.
