Slim 293
Stirling Mortlock (74)
Pretty much the same as last year.....
It also means the ARU saves on promotional costs.........

One would guess the vice captains will be in the starting side as well. So 2, 7 & 14 are penciled in?

It's possible that Graham's struggles as a coach have more to do with Horwill's decline as a player, than vice versa.
Another way to look at it, which Wallabies would force their way into this starting team?
I'd say Slipper, Moore, maybe Simmons, Pocock, Speight and Folau.
I don't care what the haters say. I'm looking forward to the 79th minute of the RWC when we are trailing by one; awarded a penalty 35m out, right in front and our mighty captain decides a quick tap with no support is the best option.
Moore confirmed as skipper, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and Hooper joint VCs. Good call.
Realistically none. IMO.
Ok maybe Folau, cause the darkness are able to harness and develop their talent much better than the wobs do. Shame really. Just inadequate.
Cause bringin back the old firm Gits, Mitchell, Mumm etc, is not a glowing endorsement of the player R&D arm of the ARU.
Is this what win at all costs looks like? Very grey road ahead
I understand your opinion on Mumm but I don't agree. Just because Elsom didn't work out doesn't mean it will never work. George Smith wasn't bad till he got concussed.
Horwill, on his form this year, is out there in a category called "brain explosion", a category usually inhabited only by backs. The last time he played to his best form was three years ago. That's way too long to get any credit. He was not good this year even when he was on the field. In the big match-up in the last round against the Tahs I thought he was anonymous.
Maybe Dennis gets points for being able to play like Fardy at 6 if required. But he loses a bag of points for being in charge of the Waratahs lineout. It varied from below average to a clusterfuck all year and he was its boss. So he would not make my squad as a jumper.
Teams usually play with a bruiser second rower and a jumping second rower. Think Botha and Matfield, Eales and Morgan/Giffen etc. Its unusual to have two bruiser/jumpers though Whitelock and Retallic are close. But then NZ's primary jumper is Read. They do some things differently over the ditch.
So I guess that means Hooper is first choice over Pocock.
You will regret this Cheika!
