<snip> I think we really have to address our line out before we start selecting for the scrum.......<snip>

This. Who was it that said, "Win the line out and you win the game."? Was it Dwyer? Against NH opposition this holds especially true I feel.

The pairing of MMM-Horwill appeals to me a bit, but if they were partnered we would need a line out specialist at 6 as well. It would allow the blindside selected to be a bit more 'workmanlike', rather then the usual 'flair' that is selected. Ie, it opens the door for Mowen/Shatz/Dennis type players.

As for Moore/TPN, well that seems a no brainer for me, Moore is easily the front runner, I'm not even sure where TPN sits anymore.

15m in from touch, about 35m out from the goal line, with the medic. Or did you mean on the bus?

I can't agree with it, a poor lineout will cost you possession but a poor scrum will cost you penalties, potentially yellow cards and penalty tries.

A strong line out does not mean you will have a poor scrum. They are not mutually exclusive. There are many more line outs in a game than scrums in general. A dominant line out will give a team more possession and better field position all day. A dominant scrum will give you the odd penalty (depending on the random number generator on that particular day) but what good is a penalty if you can't get out of your own half because every time you get a line out you lose the ball?

Found this on Facebook.

Looks like it's not meant to officially be revealed until Rugby HQ on FoxSports but here it is.

James Hanson tweeted that jersey design months ago when the Wallabies did their camp at the start of the season

On the jersey though, does anyone miss the days of actual jerseys? They used to look like they were wearing a uniform. Nowadays it looks like a bunch of blokes in matching t-shirts off to day 3 at the cricket!

As long as they produce a match day jersey which has all the extra little technological perks for the players and a traditionally designed jersey for the fans then I'm happy.

Just on the subject of the front row, I reckon we could chop and change it to what the Lions front row will be.
For example, if the Lions go for a strong scrummaging front row like Grant-Best-Jones, then by all means choose Robinson-Moore-Palmer.
But if it's is a more dynamic front row, like Healy-Youngs-Cole, then I reckon we could get away with Alexander(1)/Robinson(2)-TPN/Moore-Slipper

Agreed RE Mogg and his defence, have him practice his tackling one on one against Auelua and Speigh (the slipperiest man in the Brumbies squad). Repeatedly. Beale is gone for the series, or should be. He's out of form, now injured and unable to play, as well as his disciplinary stuff. He's gone.

Cooper is getting better with each passing game, and with no other real option that doesn't make me want to just cry (besides playing Lealiifano there and banking on him pulling his 2012 form out of the hat), at this stage i've inked him into my team alongside Genia. who is obviously a shoe in.

I see the value in playing Tapuai at 12 as he has test experience and a combination with Cooper, but Lealiifano is in arguably better form, and is our best goalkicking option, plus has proven BMT, and is a much more aggressive defender.

Palu is a busted flush, and out of form. He is consistantly tackled behind the gainline, struggles to play back to back games and doesn't look at all fit.

Higgers is playing ok, in a shit team that's struggling. Mowen is kicking arse and STANDING OUT, even with everyone else at the Brumbies playing as well as they are. He's the best jumper in Aus and is running the best lineout in Aus atm. Against a NH team that is sure to kick a lot and play set piece rugby, he should be a fucking shoe in. Lineouts are far, far more important than scrums, and if we don't have a dominant lineout, then good bye Lions trophy. We must have strong set pieces or we're screwed.

Smith is a shoe in. All we need is Suntroy to extend his holiday, and the Aru to sign him on a 6 month contract, with a get-out clause that Smith can enact after the series. Simple.

MMM is a rampaging animal, we need his raw, hairy angriness. Higgers likes to give newspaper interviews about him being angry and aggressive, but so far the only evidence i've seen of that in gold is him cheapshotting McCaw and getting banned. Well played dickhead, why don't you go out and actually just smash people and rucks like MMM is doing?

Who to partner Horwill in the 2nd row?! Douglas is a good option, Timani is just too lazy despite his big hit every 2nd game. Fardy is playing so well that I don't understand the total lack of interest in him? He constantly belts people in defence, hits rucks with serious venom, runs the ball very well, and is a pain int he arse at breakdowns as well, his turnover rate is very decent. Not quite as big as Douglas though, which is his only drawback but its only by about 3cm and 4kg, if that.

13 is a bit of an issue, but AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is finding some form at last and if he's in form, then he's our best option.

I am in total agreement with all points made here, especially irt Cliff Palu. Long time since I've seen an outstanding display from Cliff.

Surely we would go for the strongest possible scrummaging front row, so that we dominate? What better way to shut their fans up and own the momentum of the match than by skullfucking them each time there's a scrum?

Win ourselves a penalty/short atm, give it to Jessse Mogg to put out 10m from their line, and then get the grindstone rolling. If we get front foot ball for Genia dn Cooper, we will win.

So

Robinson
Moore
Palmer
Horwill
Fardy
MMM
Smith
Mowen

/

Horwill
MMM
Auelua
Smith
Mowen
