Wallabies vs Lions , 19th July Suncorp

I can't find entire bays.

Most I saw was 7 in a row in bay 737 which seems like the real ass end of the stadium.

Bay 730 has 8 in a row for $359.00 a pop or $384 if you want a souvenir ticket. $25 for the actual ticket really grinds me gears.

Love the starting backline, HATE the bench sans Tate. I can hear an argument for Ben over JOC (James O'Connor) just based on familiarity with the squad and overall pep, but I'd prefer JOC (James O'Connor) based on the sheer number of positions he can cover that I'd feel just fine about him covering. I think Kellaway is the biggest waste of a spot. He hasnt been playing particularly well, and he's most likely in there to cover more positions.

If you pick JOC (James O'Connor), that theoretically goes away and you can give the other bench spot to a spark plug who can break the game open against tired legs in the back end of the second half. I'd be much more inclined to throw Corey Toole, Dylan Pietsch or Hunter Paisami that spot (granted there is coverage issues with each of them).

In fairness, the current make up gives you the most coverage if something catastrophic happens in the starting side, but I think you have to play some sort of risk/upside game here...

Also Lynagh is an animal and he's made for this, I back him 1000% without any hesitation.

318 and 339 have some banks of tickets that have no doubt been recently added back into the wider pool. Apart from these, it's purely just smatterings elsewhere. I would suggest it's a few hundred left, not thousands. That doesn't suit the narrative though, of course :)

It's not the actual ticket though - the souvenir tickets are a separate, collectible bit of merch that don't include the actual barcode and can't be used for access. There is a bit more to them than a traditional paper ticket that they're effectively replacing for collectors:

I have absolutely no interest in them but I don't have any issue with them offering this sort of merch for those that want it.

In my view, picking James O'Connor would be fairly ridiculous and pretty contradictory for Schmidt.

We've had three 10s in the squad since the start and O'Connor wasn't one of them. Now that Lolesio is injured, why would O'Connor go straight into the matchday 23? If he was a chance of that he should have been in the squad since it was first selected.

Tbh I've reflected and I stand by what I said even if it's Donno in for JOC (James O'Connor). Donno gives you 10/15, then pick your poison of Toole/Pietsch/Paisami. All 3 impressed me greatly in their respective state outings. Kellaway is solid, defends well, but I don't see the game breaking upside - which I think we'll actually need.

I appreciate the idea. I have tickets in a draw from Bledisloes in the early 2000s. Don't ask me why, I just like having them still. It's the extra $25 that pisses me off on top of what is already a premium that people accept for this tour.

I wouldn't select Kellaway either. I'd either have Daugunu or Paisami. Our bench issue is definitely a lack of coverage for 12 in particular (and to a lesser extent 13) which is why I'd potentially lean to Paisami. I'm not the biggest fan but it's definitely the biggest issue we'd face if there was an injury somewhere.

Potter and Jorgensen don't really provide versatility outside of the back 3 which makes it very hard to have either Pietsch or Toole on the bench in my opinion.

Agreed on all fronts. Paisami is also a certified dawg and gave it to the Lions when he had his shot at them.

Really?

I can see a chunk of tickets in bays 318 and 339 and very little else. They have presumably come back from not being sold in the UK or something (or been held back until this week).

Where are you seeing whole bays unsold?
Looks like the Lions tour packages have just done a big return this morning.

Daugunu absolutely needs to be on the bench. I like the idea of him coming off the bench and jackalling. Him covering wing and centre very handy. Potter, jorg can cover fullback if something happened and we already had Donno on for lynagh.

Are you seeing anything more than the two bays that LeCheese and I highlighted with substantial tickets available or are you just continuing with your general negativity based on not a lot?

His 'jackalling' against Fiji didn't seem to yield too much (other than penalties against Australia).
Should the outside back reserve be picked on their attributes as an outside back (and not as a make-shift flanker)?

I think for this series in particular they should be picked as someone who can break open the game. I'd say on the basis of probability you're more likely to need someone who can be a spark versus someone who can soundly cover a bunch of positions.

With that being said... It's the Wallabies, so they'll need precisely the opposite of whatever two options they actually choose. No woman can ever hurt me like these men have over the years. This time will be different though!!!

I’m just running scenarios. If we’re chasing the game it may be handy.

these things aren't mutually exclusive discussions... if two outside backs are of similar quality then you're going to consider what their point of difference is. that doesn't mean it's at the exclusion of their core skillset.
