Dennis is better lock cover, less "impact", sure, but far more doing stuff like pushing & cleaning out

I have significant concerns for the Wallabies at Scrum time. They did OK against England last week, but that was a pretty weak English pack TBH, and Dan Cole was regarded as very well down the pecking order for their TH just a couple of years ago.
Against the Italians I doubt that the Australian LHP will get away with the boring in and popping that Woodcock got away with last week. IMO that was the only reason the ABs held the Italian pack at the set piece. I wonder if the ref (was it Poite?) had fears of being Dickensoned if he called the ABs on the tactic.

The Mitchell thing sounds a lot like Ben Robinson pre-WC- the whole "I have no cartilage in my [knee/ankle] but it feels great and the doctor said its amazing I can put weight on it...miraculous recovery yada yada." Sure Shmoo can score tries but is he there on reputation or is he as fit as he's ever going to be? Guess we'll find out.

Excellent - so long as it truly just general soreness.

He shouldn't been in the matchday squad anyway with Hanson in the touring party. This should freshen Taf up for the Wales game and if the result is well in hand (tempting fate, I know, saying that) Hanson could get a decent chunk of the 2nd half.

On a side note you can't compare Richie McCaw's situation to Dave Dennis for the simple reason Richie McCaw = Probably Greatest Openside Ever and Dave Dennis = Wallaby Rookie

My point was it seems strange to bring in Higginbotham a wide running backrower at the expens eof the tighter playign Dennis who has just hit form.

Especially since its against the italians a team/course who's style of game would call for a player/horse of Dennis' mould

Not sure you're right. I believe Dennis has played a very solid 6 role that I don't believe Higgers appreciates for want of a better word.

But if we're to trouble Italy up front we need the potential to run the outside channel rather than simply bash them, though at the start it might signal our intentions.

Higgers is a wild card option and worth a risk against Italy. He and Hooper together could get us over the gain line and disrupt their foreward based stonewalling defence

Got an interesting stat, if the Wallabies can score 14 tries against Italy, they will have scored enough this year to have their average for three year ROUNDED UP to two per test.

TPN out due to 'general soreness'. Is he possibly the softest forward the Wallabies have ever produced? I have never heard of a bloke being rested for this not once but twice in a season. The answer to question is Yes. He goes down at least twice every game he plays. TPN needs a good dose of cement.

I personally thing Dennis is a mile away from what most people would call test 'form'. He simply not up to it. His work intight is not where alot of people put him up to as well. The reality is the number 6's job this day and age is generally a roaming role. Other than South Africe and England...oh of the course..and the Tahs most teams use their 6 as proxy no. 8 who runs wider.

TPN's a lot of things, but soft isn't one of them. Did you happen to see him get close enough to KO'd and keep playing last week?

He probably should have gone off and there seem to be issues with his positioning in contact but he is definitely not soft.
