When was the last time our tactical kicking was better than the opposition? We seem to get out kicked every game year on year.

Your scrum was a laughing stock and you brought in a specialist. Now it's pretty handy.

Got to think the same kind of specialist coaching from outside would make significant improvements to your kicking game out of hand and from the tee.

Positive moving forward:
1. DHP looks like he can handle himself well at test level;
2. Cheiks now knows that he needs To'omua as his playmaking 12;
3. Sean McMahon is a powerhouse.

Disappointments:
1. Foley's kicking from hand and game management;
2. Stephen Moore's game management (should he be the captain? I don't know if he is a lock to start);
3. Nick Phipps obviously hasn't done any passing practice.

Taqele has a 100% strike rate in tests now.

trivia question for everyone: who is the other player in recent history (2012 onwards) to have a 100% strike rate in tests for tries?

I've never seen a worse performance at international level than Rob Horne tonight. We played with 14 men. He didn't look for the ball and he didn't find it. I never heard him called once in attack or defence. He can't be picked again.

Given your points 2 and 1, can To'omua not play 10?

In hindsight, big shame that Cheika is so reluctant to give Frisby some time.

1 minute left with Farrell to kick for a 9 point lead.

Owens never gave a decision our way, Foley had a shocker with the boot and Phipps was slow and inaccurate.

But there is one man more than any that lost that game for the Wallabies and his name is Michael Cheika.

- picked a second rower that didn't deserve it on form and isn't fit enough to last 60
- refused to take off Foley or Phipps off despite pretty poor performances
- didn't have adequate exit plans - we have a bloke in DHP that can kick long and accurate but we aren't using him
- his big play to get the win at the end is to bring on a winger!

I recall Horne having a carry and making a few tackles (and missing one or two as well). Definitely being harsh on Horne.

That said, we do need more from a winger than what Horne gives. He's not anywhere near a test level winger.

1. Cheika's game management. - his use of subs has been horrible all series.

Yeah, there's little doubt Cheika was out coached by Jones this series.

Really annoying.

Admittedly, Jones is an excellent tactician, but woeful woeful man manager (I'll never forget or forgive what he did to the Reds in that regard, and he has no remorse).

Some ideas about the game:

McMahon is too small to play at 8 at international level. He can't hurt anyone there. Especially the English backrow

The tight-five is still the main concerned in Aussie Rugby

I like Rob Horne, he's a tremendous tackler but he's too slow to play at winger at this level. He couldn't reach Jamie George in the last try of the second test. A fat hooker!

Pick Hooper at the wing instead of Horne. He's a tremendous tackler, he can do the Horne's job (defend the channel 2) and in addition he's faster and more dangerous with ball in hand

If Foley and Phipps are the best couple 9/10 Aussie rugby is fucked

Another Bledisloe for the ABs

Reds? wasn't that bloody like 20 years ago. I'm sure his man-management is a little better after 10 years of coaching at the highest level - successfully.

He contributed nothing! In an expansive game where every other player in the back 3 of both teams was heavily involved it is not good enough to have a winger contribute zero. I'm sure he is a great guy, nice to animals and children and all that but don't give him a gold jumper again thanks!

On the bright side, that was a very entertaining test match. Good game to watch. Just painful if you're Australian (or want the English to lose, which is probably pretty much anyone not from England).
