That's the backline that I had hoped we would field as first choice when season 2016 got underway. Unfortunately due to injuries and some form drops (I.e To'omua, though that might have been related to the knee injury and TK) we have arrived here late and in less than ideal circumstances.

That said, those boys have game so fuckin up the wallabies.

It is an odd lock pairing. Skeleton not known for his ruck work and Simmons being only good the set piece. Obviously that is the extreme and simplistic view of the preconceived notions about both players. As always there is an element of truth.

A number 8 like McCalmon may have been a better match with the locks.

Just kind of doesn't look good for TGC to say one week to say a player like Simmons is dropped then reinstate him. He could have easily played the dropping off as an injury in the media and booted Simmons ass in private. Then to drop his replacement after one game altogether for a guy that hasn't even figured in the 23.

Kerevi can feel hard done by as well. Really hope the second playmates works bit I don't see it having much impact as many would like.

It all kind of gives the impression that the losses have come as a very big surprise and we don't know what to do. Not great running into the TRC.

Ah well, I am probably wrong. Hope we win.

The challenge is that To'omua has been quite average this season before his injury, and after a long injury break we think he can turn up and help us win a test match?

I spose with all the preferred options being unavailable Cheika thinks it's worth a crack. No doubt Lilo will stay on the bench as plan B if it's not working out. I won't be surprised if we see this formation during the game though:
12. Folau
14. Alphabet
15. DHP

Simon.

Looks like Palu gets a bench spot then.

Don't understand the dropping of Kerevi over Kuridrani. I thought Kerevi was the better centre both games, and he's certainly been the better of the two in Super form leading up to June.

Unless Cheika thinks Kerevi is not experienced enough to handle defence at 13. Which would be weird since the Poms never really threatened to bust through the centres at all.

Coleman? Thats a surprise as is McMahon starting at 8 again. Would have liked to have seen Palu start with McMahon on the bench.

Not sure if Skelton is what we need but it will be interesting.

Am a bit surprised at the McMahon selection. Thought Leroy or Cliffy would get the run-on.
Moore has copped a bit of criticism but he is the captain and IMO reckon he will have a big game this week. Hopefully his leadership is a positive.
Fardy was picked because of his great recent test form (not last week) - fuck any other player giving away 3 penalties and 3 loose carries would have been benched.
Happy to see To'omua in the side and TK would be considered fortunate to hold his spot - and Kerevi. a bit unlucky.
The locks: who knows, Cheka is still searching and awaiting the return of Douglas.

The complete dropping of Kerevi is a joke. He should have at least been on the bench.

Sends a pretty shit message to the fringe players - you can try your guts out and be one of the best performers only to get thrown out of the 23 all together while under performers are kept in.

Not only that but he has the potential to be a great wallaby centre - the more time he gets the better.

Cheika has really fucked this one up.

Money would be on Coleman being the unchosen one..
