Regarding Bismarck
Sport24

He should have played in Osfontein on saturday.

Test rugby is a lot faster than CC, Oom. For what it's worth, Snor makes a lot of sense there, and I agree with him on a full game being better coming back than dribs and drabs of super-intense rugby where you're more likely to get injured again.

To be honest Boet I think he is not sure Chilliboy will make the Brutes bench. Smit poorness was showed up by Chilli in the test and I can promise you we are in desperate need of Bismarck specially when we play without Brussouw. Bismarck is our fecther specialist and when he lay that hand on the pill, he come out with it.

No, accepted on that; but, to be honest, there's damn-all point chucking him into a dead-rubber test in Osfontein when he's only just back from injury. You're risking losing a key player, again. Better to give him a good 80 in the lower intensity of the CC, then conditioning, then have him ready for road for the EOYTs.

He was ready two months ago and was held back by the Sharks at the request of the Bok medical team. According to reports I have had from someone I know at the Sharks he is in amazing physical condition. He has had two starts (one a MOM performance) and two off the bench. He was HUGE against WP. More than one surgeon has proclaimed him 100% ready.

Fitness is not an issue.

I didn't say fitness, Blue. But test rugby is several levels up from even S14 in terms of intensity, never mind on CC. He's too valuable for 2011 to be worth risking in what is - and let's be frank about this - a dead rubber. I'd have done the same as Snor; keep him intact for the autumn. Smit's expendable; let him take the hit. Ruthless, but, that's how it is.

Saw Snor is in the doc again after backing Bees. Have the whole Soutie press on his back after that one. :lmao:

Yeah supporting guy up for murder is perhaps a bit stupid. In the normal world anyway.

I don't know how true it is bu I had an email suggesting he will be gone on Sunday...

Don't believe it though.

Thanks Lance.

Hurray for Brown going back to the bench. I also like the idea of the backline staying as is to get some combos going but would prefer Turner on the bench.

Some actual changes!??!!?
And Brown is gooooone?!?!?!

maybe RD read gagger's article. Can't see Chis having any more of an impact than Mumm but thank god Moore is back at 2 and McCalman shouldn't be half bad too.
We shall see...
btw does anyone know what those names under the numbers 16-22 mean? I thought they only used those numbers in the old days?

Chis for Mumm........meh.
He could have retained Simmons on the bench in place of A. Fainga'a and used Mumm as a 6 when Elsom runs out of steam. Higgers would have been there if fit.
Would have also liked to have seen Slipper starting at TH but I guess we will see him early in the second stanza.

Better but still lacking balance with only 1 winger in the 22 (2 if you count AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) who is the back-up in just about every other position).

A tip for trying to predict decisions Deans will make; remove what is sensible or reasonable from your thoughts and you'll probably be bang on :lmao:

Our bench is much better then last week. Aplon for Bitch much more impact in the second stanza and cover much better. JdJ can cover 12 & 13, Aplon wing and 15 and F Steyn to 10, Pie Vreter make up the numbers and Rossouw swop for KleinFlippie, that would have been the pick if Danie wasnt injured earlier.

Slipper has been the first reserve used for the last couple of games so I guess Dingo has figured out that Maafu is only good for about 40 minutes.
Deans is proving himself to be very unpredictable but as he has actually made some positive changes to his starting side this week maybe he has turned the corner and is on the road back to normality??

Did he start taking his meds again?

Moore and McCalman, and Chis to a lesser extent, like to run with the ball. This will take a lot of pressure off Sharpe.

Moore...yup; Chisolm...part of me wants to believe that one game he will use all that size and momentum and smash some Bokke in attack but my head says I know he won't.
The second Finger is unnecessary on the bench (not knocking him) - I still think Turner would give better versatility on the bench.

Whilst the Tah in me would prefer a Burgess Barnes Turner bench, I would actually like to see A Finger get more game time instead of Barnes. But as we all know, Tom Carter may as well be on Dingo's bench for all the difference it makes.

I agree with that, but with the rest of the bench I don't think he makes sense.
Nothing to do with being a Tah supporter - if Hynes was available, I would put him in the same category as Turner - plays wing, plays 15.

That's a better team. I'm looking forward to seeing what McCalman can do off the back of the scrum and it's high time that Stephen started at hooker. There's a bit of mongrel to that pack and I like it. Totally agree with leaving the backs as is.
