Not being at all fluent in French, does that article mention AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) suffering concussion at Wellington?

That's how I interpret the last sentence of the first paragraph - he left the ground in the 17th minute due to a 'K.O'.

Will almost be certain that AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) will go home and probably announce he finished with test rugby, he made it clear he had only made himself available for first 2 tests, and I think that was because him and Gits etc were hoping to win Bled at least once before they packed it in, and good on them too, sure they had mentally retired when they originally went to France, and came back because they thought they could help.
Maybe spiro had a point when he railed against the players coming back under giteau rule. Genia a notable exeption. He has done well.

With AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) probs gone and Mitchell still under a fitness/contract cloud. I expect to see this as the Team, as I don't think cheika will make many changes

1.Slipper 2. Moore 3. Kepu
4. Coleman 5. Douglas
6. Fardy 8. Pocock 7. Hooper
9. Genia 10. Quade 12. Foley 13. Kerevi
11. Morohan 15. Folau 14. DHP

16. TPN 17. Sio 18. Ala'alatoa 19. Mumm 20. Mcmahon 21. Phipps 22. Hodge 23. Kuridrani

I wouldn't mind a bit more change against Boks considering the weaknesses in their backs, the strength of their set piece but their loss of power in general forward play. Actually Think Pooper would work against this Bok side but NEVER believed it would work against AB's.

I think you are largely right with your prediction however I don't think we will see Morahan in gold unless absolutely necessary. I think Hodge will start in his place on the wing and Speight will be on the bench. it won't mater having an (almost) specialist wing on the bench as 10 is covered twice and 12, 13, 15 are all covered thrice in the starting lineup. 6:2 split with whichever of K2 not starting to miss out.

How were Giteau and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) paid? I assume no yearly deal, and just the 10 grand (or whatever it is now) per test? Are they paying Mitchell anything? Genia? Horwill?

Just a guess, but I reckon the match fee and an incentive if we won the Bledisloe, or at least for a win.

I appreciate AACs efforts for the Wallabies over his career but this picking of tests to be involved in is a bit shit. Your in or out. Could he mentally be up for it knowing it's just two games in these circumstances?
Totally agree. As the old saying goes 'you cannot be a little bit pregnant'. Its all or nothing. Must be corrosive for team morale to have guys fly in then fly out.

I had an open mind about bringing guys back from Europe for the test team at the beginning. It was originally sold as something to be used sparingly in times of need. Having seem it in operation this year, I think it needs to be abandoned forthwith.

I have no problem with players signing with overseas clubs in order to secure their long term financial future. But having made that decision, Wallaby selection is off the table.

The guys that get officially named in the squad get a per diem and expenses paid (os flights?)
I think you actually have to run on to get a match payment - one reason why coaches often get everyone on the field if only for a minute at the end

Now going the way of football with the tug of war between cashed up clubs and the relatively cash poor national team all vying for a player's services. Money talks.

I think Hodge showed enough last week to be included in the 23 and maybe even to start in AACs place. It sure would be sweet to have that long distance penalty kicking capability on the pitch.
Hopefully Speight is also available from here on in. I see he is scheduled to start for the Vikings on the weekend. We really missed Kurindranis defensive ability last week. If Foley remains at 12 I would pick TK at 13 but would prefer to see Kerevi at 12 with TK at 13 outside Cooper.

I'd go with:

9. Genia
10. Cooper
11. Speight
12. Kerevi
13. Kuridrani
14. Folau
15. Foley

Gives us three kickers in the backline (Cooper, Foley, Folau - in order of capability), good defenders in Speight / Kuridrani, strike runners in Kerevi / Kuridrani / Folau / Speight and ball-players in Foley / Cooper.

Wouldn't be my first choice backline, but hey, we've got about 8,000 injuries right now in key backline positions and an absolute dearth of well-rounded wingers.

Edit: Hodge on the bench. The guys played one season of Super Rugby (and was injured for a decent chunk of it) after playing one season of 1st grade. He even spent an entire previous season injured. Let him develop slowly. (He also covers 11,12,14,15 and 10,13 at a pinch. Great utility value).
