Very much a winger though. Fullback he is not.
I don't get this Derp. 14 has to have the same character as a 15, surely. Possibly the one issue being I'd expect a lot more organisation from 15.

He does some good things true but then as in the opening minute of the last Test throws that stupid ball to Wright instead of taking the tackle…. he didn’t really get much of a go at fullback… what was it 2 minutes? … but as a winger he just needs to put his head down and run… I’d have Kellaway, Koribete, Vunivalu and Wright ahead of him..as wingers ….and I’d give Campbell a shot at fullback…. because he IS a fullback! Funny that.I’ve been critical of Petaia, but he’s certainly not average… I think he’s been pretty good since shifting to the wing over the past year.

I think there’s a general reticence about Campbell’s athleticism and robustness for international football. At his best, Campbell has that elusiveness, he showed it many times for the Reds during the last few years, specifically when playing fullback.
At his worst, he's very passive and doesn't go looking for work (usually when playing on the wing).

Such an odd circumstance for the Wallabies as there's hardly any nailed on starters. The good news is they do have some depth, but there'll be a lot of questionmarks around the park and has the potential to get ugly against the Boks.
Okay, it would be a big gamble, but Langi Gleeson is apparently our quickest forward, and he is as tough as teak. Otherwise Samu.Is McReight a guarantee at 7? Not sure who else can play there. They may want a bigger option for this game.
Least Athletic his probably the quickest and for my mind better in contact then Jock.. but that's not saying much. This is why Banks was preferred, despite probably being the least athletic or naturally gifted of the bunch. This is also why I hope either Kellaway or Campbell get first crack and why I don't want to see Wright or Petaia there again this year.

It'll be interesting to see who gets selected given the opposition. You'd think they'd want more size up front and better kicking options in the backs.

If ever Hodge is to get a start at 10 (or 15) you'd think it'd be in this game given his physicality and his boot. And lack of other options.
Most slots are pretty firm IMO. Just not 6, 10, 14 or 15.Agreed. In my years of watching the Wallabies, I've not often seen a test side without most positions firmed up a year out of a World Cup. Cheika's last year maybe, but not too many beyond that.
That said, I think with injured players coming back into the fold I can see by the end RC the picture becoming clearer. At some point I think Rennie and the selectors will need to pick and stick.
Locks are far from firm. Most slots are pretty firm IMO. Just not 6, 10, 14 or 15.
Some combination of Philip, Swain, Frost and Arnold. Possibly Rodda comes back in.Locks are far from firm.

If Kellaway good to go he will be 15. His played there a lot, but also is also extremely consistently good.
Don't think it's really an argument. If not then it's wide open.

Joseph Sua'ali'i ….. a shame Rennie doesn’t have him to play 15.
I guess though he’ll be there for the 2027 home World Cup.
