I agree that's a likely side Reg, but if it were me I might be a bit more adventuress with youth for the bench. Perhaps Lonergan for Fainga'a, McDermott for Gordon, Lolesio for Hodge and Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) for Wright.

I am hopeful that Lolesio starts this game as the Scots tend to get it over us in the first half and having a 10 who can tackle would be an advantage. I would also start Holloway at 6 with Hanigan on the bench.

Yeah full strength side for the first game on tour. This is one of the three I think we CAN win. Scotland play a game that contests hard at the breakdown and in the loose in general, so I want us playing a pack that can quell that in the early going. Keep the game tight, play it down their end and then try to open things up later on.

Qwerty, even allowing for his two or three brain farts per game, I think that match statistics consistently show Wright among the top for tackles beaten and metres gained in our backline. He offers some things that the coaches/selectors seem to like, and is better supporting the fullback at the back than Jordan P. Unfortunately, Jordan is just as likely to make errors, dropped balls, passes over the sideline or offloads to opposition players, as Tom is, perhaps not quite so spectacular.

I personally would prefer Wright to Petaia who just hasn't reached his early promise. Will be interesting to see how the coaches view it. Nawaqanitawase will also probably come into the equation for a wing spot at some time on tour.

Our best chance of a good result will largely depend on our early game discipline. We have a habit of gifting opposition sides with territory and points in the first 20 - 30 minutes. That has to stop for us to be a chance.

Mark will get a go, and same with Jock, start them against Italy, see how they do and then they can go again v Ireland and Wales. For now v Scotland and France we should stick with more experienced guys.

The stats from TRC, across basically all metrics, actually favour Petaia once you factor in minutes played.

Aside from discipline, the biggest difference is in number of passes, which is mostly explained by Wright's games at fullback.
