No it doesn't. Carlo had that ball and he was illegally cleaned out. Regardless of you like it or not it's the laws of the game. You cannot attack the head/neck of another player. It's been a penalty and card for the last 4 years.

He was also straight off his feet which is also a penalty, take your pick really.

To be fair we don't know the whole story. He's just back from injury and might have felt a twinge, it could even have been physio's orders.

Hopefully that's the last time we even consider a 6-2 split. Not having Tate, Ben and even Kellaway coming on in their preferred positions impacted how we finished ie without firing a shot.

The issues were the lack of the physicality in the second half and key miss tackles in the centres by Sua'ali'i and Ikitau. An unfit Kellaway wouldn't change that.

  • Lifting or dropping onto a player in a ruck

In addition to Law 9.20, World Rugby’s Head Contact Process (HCP) is the protocol referees use to determine sanction levels (red/yellow/no card) when there’s:

• Direct head or neck contact
• Dangerous play
• Lack of mitigation (e.g. sudden movement by ball-carrier)

If head contact is reckless or intentional and no mitigation exists, a red card is the expected outcome.

He should play on the wing until he learns how to tackle properly. Meanwhile you don't have a top class 12 so Ikitau is forced to play out of position. Since the good old days of Kerevi, Australia don't have a top class 12, Paisami isn't the answer. Joe prefers Ikitau at 12 than the tiny Paisami who is an easy target for test defenses

You gotta reward the bloke on his feet. Tizzano jackalling was doing that and the lions bloke had to leave his feet to clear him out. It’s a penalty every day of the week. This bullshit about arriving at the same time is rubbish. Tizzano literally over the ball before the lions player.

IMHO: not a fucking chance. Zero attempt to stay on his feet. I don't care that they were "arriving together" - one player was on his feet going for the ball, and another dived in with zero regard for player safety. That's a clear penalty and yellow card, and game over.
