Can't believe this hasn't been started yet...

What have we got in store for us with this one? Given the usual cycle, we should be due a win ::)

Have we got anybody due back from the sick bay?

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and Hynes to be inserted into the starting 15. Who goes to the wing and who goes to full back don't matter to me out of these two. O'Connor to the Bench.
If fully fit, Genia to Start again. Would not mind seing Chambers get a run at 13. Leave the forwards as is.

As do I. That's the team I'd love to see. Although theres no Ioane, but thats a very dangerous back 3.

Barnes for 12 anyone? Can see a straight swap Ioane for AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper).

Also Mumm has to go - 2 shockers in a row. Still not a big fan of Brown but only realistic option in the squad is Hodgson to 6 and Elsom to 8 which robs us of more size.

What ever Team is picked, it needs to be the one we are going into the tri nations with.

Brown is playing fine and is getting better, not worse. There is no reason to drop him.

I agree with your view on Mumm though, but who would you drop him for.

As soon as Ioane went off QC (Quade Cooper) had no alternative options to pass to. He either had the options of two midgets running an outside line. Nothing on the inside, nothing straightening. Giteau was the death of our backline attack (yes I know that isn't where we lost the game, but his performances have not warranted selection). We need someone willing to run straight, or run inside. Mitchell should be looking for it coming from the blind. Hynes can do that job from the wing, but not quite from full back just yet. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) can do it from fullback or 13. Horne needs to get involved in the game more (or the plays need to involve him more). We need to see a team without Giteau and without Barnes. We need to see a 12 that can straighten the attack, run hard and defend even harder.

10 Cooper
11 Mitchell
12 Horne
13 Ashley-Cooper
14 Hynes
15 JOC (James O'Connor)

or

10 Cooper
11 Mitchell
12 Horne
13 Ashley-Cooper
14 Turner
15 Hynes

I thought Brown was alright in the first test but poor in the 2nd - clearly needs to improve his work at the base of the scrum. Plus gave away one of his trademark stupid penalties at a ruck.

I'd give Chisholm a shot - now I know he hasn't shown any resemblance of form this year but we do not need some more bulk.

RugbyReg - good team, I would like to see Houston get a crack too.
Scotty - not me. If we win a couple of games it would be actually pretty good at this stage.

Tri nations shmi nations. Does anyone actually think we have a chance of winning it?

No. I defy anyone right now to say that we are on a par with both the Kiwis and the Boks. Look at what the ABs did to Wales, one of the rare running rugby sides in the NH.

How did we do against the stogy, unimaginative, uninspired and one-dimensional Poms? Did we win? No? Ah......

Defense rests, y'honour.

Bob Dwyer's says it better than I ever could

It has become the ‘rule’ in the last season or so, for this Wallaby team to take one step forward and then one, or even two, steps backward. We are then patronized by the team management with platitudes of “World Cup development”, striving to give us the impression that there is light at the end of the (horror) tunnel. There is no light; we simply do not have the personnel on the field at the moment to allow for their development into a world-class team.

In after-match discussion, a group of us pondered – comparing this team with those of the 1991 and 1999 World Cup winners. “Where are the Daley, Kearns and McKenzies? Where are the Eales, McCalls, Ofahengaues? Farr-Jones, Lynagh, Horan and Little? from 1991.” “Where are the Harry’s, Foley and Blades’s? Giffin, Kefu? Gregan, Larkam, Roff, Tune or Burkes of 1999?” There are very few comparisons. This group just don’t stack up. Development must be seen to be leading somewhere and there must timelines for some result/s. From my point of view, I see players in this squad who, even at the peak of their development, will not be players of true international class. It is fruitless to continue with them; far better to use, at least temporarily, the battle-hardened ‘old guys’ who will do enough to assist in the development of some potential real quality around them.

I guess Robbie Deans is more interested in buying himself some time with the "youth" policy though.

I mentioned it in one of the blog post, but the defence was terrible. I only got to watch the first half, but in that time I saw Schmoo miss two tackles and horne, gits, digby and JOC (James O'Connor) all miss one each. At test level, this is just not acceptable especially because England doesn't really have much of an attack to speak of. They are not the only ones but they were the ones I noticed.
