I was surprised that Noah wasn't on bench, is perhaps Rennie thinking the French may get on top and mentally he doesn't want to put pressure on him?Noah out of 23 too. Guessing he will start next week?
Injured ankle early in the Scottish game.Is Banks injured too?
Tough to match up when you’re missing Bell, HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes), Sio, Ala'alatoa, Fa’amausilireserve front row is pretty dire, just not up to par with other test front rows.
Is it dropping Tate or a planned rotation?I don't mind that side. I like the backline a hell of a lot more.
Not sure about dropping Tate. He seems like the perfect bench impact player. Those sniping runs are a point of difference.
Looking forward to Skelton from the bench, hope he get a sold amount of game time.
I rate Robertson, he rarely lets you downTough to match up when you’re missing Bell, HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) (Harry Johnson-Holmes), Sio, Ala'alatoa, Fa’amausili
fattie, I'm not too happy with the rotation system as we build towards RWC. What you reckon? Is it dropping Tate or a planned rotation?
I would prefer to build combinations, but as we have seen - our team is made of glass, so there is a certain logic also in getting players time playing as we have no idea who is ever going to be fitfattie, I'm not too happy with the rotation system as we build towards RWC. What you reckon?
Really not a fan of rotation but I suppose it's a plus if it means Tate gets to start more.Rennie says it was always the plan. Gordan will start next week (with Tate on the bench it would seem)
Rennie is saying he will 'pick and stick' next year but is that too late? Just asking as we should have a solid idea what the team looks like and not sure how many games before RWC next year, not many I guess.Really not a fan of rotation but I suppose it's a plus if it means Tate gets to start more.
With the WC not too far away you'd think we'll have to settle on & stick with a halves combination pretty soon though.....
I rate Robertson, he rarely lets you down
I've been impressed by Gibbon's cameos. He's handier around the ground than you imply.Robinson is an example of a prop who would have suited test rugby 10 years ago, reality is the demands/expectations of a test prop these days are much more dynamic then just a potplant who anchors the scrum. Wallabies vs England highlighted this; Ellis Genge not only held his own in the scrum against the Wallabies but was a massive influence around the ground. Robertson and Gibbon aren‘t that.
Angus Bell and Tupou(before this season) are the two Aussie props who offer the most around the ground, but need to iron out the kinks in their scrummaging still.
