What an absolute crock. We were 5 mins away from one of our best wins for decade. Terrible fandom from you.
How many times are we 5 minutes away from our best win. It’s just like when a mate tells you he almost picked up a 10 at the bar yet he still went home alone.

There is no such thing as an honourable loss.

Why take the points with 6 minutes to go? Puts us 4 up doesn’t achieve much. Should have kicked to the corner soak up time with the line out possibly win a penalty and go again. Worst case France win the line out kick it out and we soak up more time. While controlling the territory and running down the clock.

3 missed tackles!!!!

We are number 9 in the world. They’re number 1. The difference was 1 point.
yes we should have won. But let’s not forget we’re not good enough to run with the big boys and yet we still got close.

Ahh fuck it, that’s bullshit and we should have won but for some terrible defence
No such thing as an honourable loss, we were the better side for most of the day and still managed to shoot ourself in the foot. Nothing to be proud of

Not according to the stats. Our open play defence was poor, discipline not changed from previous games and a few lucky breaks kept us in the game. Our attack had little shape and it was only in broken play that we were able to score that first try. Second try from set piece within the 22. Should be a try every day for us.

I am hoping that this is a hard lesson for the Wallabies when they review the game but I doubt it. All this honourable 2nd BS gives me the shits.

The real issue is that these wallabies cannot and refuse to learn lessons.

The same fallibilities that are so absolutely correctable just continue to manifest in
every
fucking
game
win
or
lose
!
No argument here. At this point I beginning to think it's a refusal more than anything else. As a player you evolve and work on your weaknesses to compliment your strengths. So I cannot for one minute accept that these issues haven't been made abundantly clear and even moves to address them haven't been at least discussed. So it has to be a refusal to accept these faults at this point.

It is a truth universally accepted that a team used to losing will find a way to lose regardless of the opportunity placed before them!
Apologies to Jane Austen....

How did his coming on change anything? Genuine Q as I didn't see him make any huge mistakes and in 10 mins he kicked a penalty and pulled off some good tackles.
You’re right in that it probably didn’t in the end, but I just don’t see how taking off your key playmaker, for someone who is not a playmaker, is wise in a close contest.

The points others have made re: Hodge’s stronger tackling and kicking ability make sense, but I still wouldn’t be pulling Foley to get him on.

le cheese, you would if it was Foley missing the tackle on Penaud.

Sorry to disagree with you. France playing at home are always a formidable opponent. There is a lot to be proud of.
True… however against the ABs and now France…we put ourselves in the position to close out and win those games … and we didn’t….

In that instance Wright is off for Hodge, who makes the tackle on Penaud and the Wobs hold on :D whataboutisms can work both ways

Regardless, we needed consistency and calm to hold on in the last 10 - subbing off essentially the glue of the team doesn’t achieve that, even if Hodge did nothing wrong. Our D up the middle was okay all night, France always looked most threatening out wide.

Jesus! Le Cheese, if Foley is the glue in our team, we were always going to come unstuck. The fact is he is a reliable kicker and did that for us last night and I appreciate it. Outside of that, he has too many issues in terms of D and attack that I am starting to wonder who our 10 will be at the RWC if Cooper doesn't come right or has dropped off.
